Worth a read, and a good reminder that public health is called that for a reason. We do not exist in bubbles. Our choices affect those around us and must consider protection of our most vulnerable who cannot be vaccinated (immunocompromised, not yet eligible, allergy, etc).

Vaccines don't just protect the person who receives them. @HelenBranswell does brilliant work breaking down the knock-on benefits we've quietly taken for granted and stand to lose. @statnews statnews.com/2026/03/19/vac…

Multiple vaccines offer benefits beyond protecting the vaccinated individual from the disease the vaccine targets. Some protect fetuses in the womb, some protect people who are immunocompromised, some protect seniors. As vax rates fall, these benefits are threatened. statnews.com/2026/03/19/vac…

Analyse éclairante, bien que décourageante, d'un rapport qui en dit long sur le genre de «démarche» intellectuelle empruntée par la santé publique américaine, maintenant qu'elle a été noyautée par des militants antivax...

A leaked government report on COVID vaccine safety reveals what happens when federal health policy is built around predetermined conclusions rather than evidence. My latest for @CIDRAP. cidrap.umn.edu/covid-19/cidra…

The President of the United States said I insulted Jesus. You want to know what insults Jesus? Kicking the sick off their healthcare. Bombing schoolchildren in Iran. Deporting moms and babies. Covering up the Epstein files.

Truly understanding the big picture ROIs of *PREVENTION* in public policymaking and governance — and the intersectional dynamics and impacts on outcomes for the greater community — is something we don't do well in American culture Prevention is often most cost effective tactic

A big — if preliminary — win for #AAP and pro- #vaccine policy today. A court has ruled Robert Kennedy's reconstitution of #ACIP and his department's rewriting of the childhood vaccination schedule are likely illegal. Developing story. statnews.com/2026/03/16/ken…

For the record, three days out, and there is still no ACIP agenda. Radical transparency in action.

SCOOP: Confidential report to ACIP calls for sweeping changes in how Covid vaccine injuries are tracked and treated. ACIP expected to consider it this week. The authors cite a survey from a GOP-leaning pollster headlined "Killer Jab?" w/@apoorva_nyc nytimes.com/2026/03/15/hea…

There are people online who think, for no good reason, that cholesterol-lowering medications like statins cause dementia. In fact, they lower the risk of dementia!

Nobody needs to be told Twinkies are bad. Anti-junk food awareness campaigns don’t move population-level diet. Food environment, pricing, school nutrition, labeling, and access do. All being defunded or ignored, but he gets to take his shirt off again.

.@WHO is increasing its support to countries impacted by the conflict in the Middle East, releasing US$2 million in emergency funds to support the health responses in #Lebanon, #Iraq and #Syria. These resources are from the WHO Contingency Fund for Emergencies, thanks to the support of donors. The funds will help strengthen emergency coordination, trauma care, disease surveillance and ensure access to essential medicines and medical supplies. As casualties rise, so do attacks on health care, which are increasing the burden on the health systems at a time when they are most needed. I urge all parties to choose the brave and life-saving path to peace. emro.who.int/media/news/who…

@jakescottMD Questions, Jake * Has there been a similar decline in the rate of myocarditis over time with COVID infection? * Has the greater severity of the virus induced myocarditis possibly declined?

Why has COVID vaccine-associated myocarditis largely resolved? Several things happened at once. Dosing intervals got longer — spacing doses at least 8 weeks apart reduces risk up to fourfold. Pfizer became preferentially recommended over Moderna for young males. Updated formulations show no meaningful signal. Booster doses replaced the primary series, and the highest risk was always after dose 2 of the original series. Uptake dropped in the highest-risk demographic. And one intriguing hypothesis: the pool of susceptible individuals has shrunk as cumulative exposure has become nearly universal. Plausible, but not yet proven.
Crémieux@cremieuxrecueil

Huh! Even though the newest COVID vaccines are more effective than the older ones, they don't lead to myocarditis. They got both more effective *and* safer!
