O-Line Gap Combos Drill
- Utilize gallop footwork to gain ground toward the defender.
- Drive vertically and downhill rather than stepping away or trying to reach the perimeter.
- Avoid leaning at the waist; maintain an upright posture to keep the shoulder, hip, and knee engaged for maximum power.
- Apply a U-turn technique when coming off a block to a linebacker to use the defender's momentum to open a crease.
- Set the aiming point for the offensive lineman as the defender's backside number when coming off a block.
- Focus on getting the hip and knee into the block rather than just relying on the upper body.
