Elon Musk's statement that "only the AfD can save Germany" has deeply disappointed me. Freedom of speech is one thing, but freedom of opinion is another. In Germany and Europe, there are boundaries, especially when it comes to supporting fascist ideologies. Everyone, of course, has their own opinion and the right to express it. But with such reach and responsibility, one should choose their words carefully. Musk seems not to understand what the AfD truly represents and the historical burden Germany carries. The parallels to the 1930s and the rise of fascism in the Weimar Republic are chilling. I always thought Musk was an intelligent person, but what has developed in him over the last few years is concerning. The AfD is not a solution; it's a problem. Their connections to Russia and their far-right tendencies are alarming. I doubt Musk really wants to support this, but his statement leaves a lot of room for misinterpretation. Is it a promise, sympathy, or criticism? That remains unclear. I wish Musk would take his responsibility as a public figure more seriously. Words have weight, especially nowadays. The AfD is not the salvation for Germany. Let's not forget, promoting ideologies that undermine democracy, diversity, and peace, especially with such a large platform, is not just irresponsible but potentially dangerous. We need leaders in technology, business, and social media who understand the weight of their influence and use it to foster unity, not division. Musk, with his global reach, has the power to shape public discourse in any direction - he should use it wisely.
