OpenAI announced support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a growing open standard originally launched by Anthropic that connects language models to external tools and proprietary data sources. The protocol will be integrated into OpenAI’s Agents SDK, with upcoming support in the ChatGPT desktop app and Responses API. @bindureddy It is very easy to make an llm-based product that works for 80% of the cases, it is almost just a matter of mouse clicks, but to make a product that works more than 95% of the cases takes a lot of talent and hours of work.

Making LLMs actually work in production is 10x harder than making a cool demo! You can make a cool demo or a prototype overnight! The challenge is to get the LLM to be reliable, talk to the right systems, get the security and permissions right, blah blah blah…. Over time, AI can handle this heavy lifting but there will be tons of human input required. This will take time and some organizations will be way ahead of the others
