As part of that agreement filed last Friday, the ACLU-MN, University of Minnesota Law School's Clemency and Civil Rights Appellate Clinics, and Mitchell Hamline's Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners Clinic (LAMP) agreed to dismiss their lawsuit Wagner and Jones v. MNDOC.

Emma Kruger and Josh Gutzman, students in the Clemency Clinic and the Child Advocacy Clinic at the @UofMNLawSchool respectively, won historic “reprieve” from MN Board of Pardons yesterday for teen certified as an adult so he can transfer to juvenile facility until he turns 18.

BREAKING NEWS: In light of the court ruling won by @ACLUMN, U of M and Mitchell Hamline clinics yesterday, MNDOC has agreed to a TRO preventing it from forcing medically-vulnerable people to return to prison on Monday. This is good news for our clients and their rights!

BREAKING NEWS! A Ramsey County District Judge just granted a temporary restraining order in our case against MNDOC. This means that MNDOC cannot currently reincarcerate people who were released during the pandemic because of their high risk from COVID-19.

Of the 2,292 people who applied for conditional medical release (CMR), MNDOC only released a tiny fraction: 158 people. Now MNDOC plans to reincarcerate some of them in violation of their constitutional due process rights.
