30 cheap things to do with young kids.
I wrote this for myself bc I want to do more things like this in 2024.
- Scavenger hunt. Get AI to create rhyming clues with things in your house/yard. (example clue that leads to trampoline - Bounce, jump, and play, where fun's on display, Find me where springs launch you high every day!)
- Walk in neighborhood and write down every animal or bug you see. Try to get to 10 minimum.
- Tag at the park
- Throw the football. Get a light football so they aren’t scared it will hit them in the face. This made throwing far more enjoyable.
- Walk around and identify trees and native plants. Seriously - we do this.
- Stack rocks
- Smash rocks with a hammer. (Safety glasses encouraged). Look for crystals. They are the most fun.
- Hike and look for animal tracks. If you want to get really intense - use plaster of Paris to gather the tracks.
- Obstacle course. Time it. Get better. Do it again. You need to participate as well.
- Climb trees. When you are uncomfortable- that’s when they are getting the most value.
- Clean a car. The hose will give solid entertainment value.
- Picnic.
- Go to a museum. Even adult focused museums. The people there are far more gracious than you’d expect and the kids will learn a lot. We went to the LBJ presidential library and were the youngest by far. It was awesome.
- Sensory bin. Look it up. Cheap. Lots of time. Think rice in a bucket with some cups.
- “Paint” using native materials. We recently had some masterpieces created using smashed grasses, berries, charcoal, and dirt.
- Bubbles kick a**. So fun.
- Backyard campout. Last time I did this, 2 of 3 peed the tent. Still worth it.
- Fires. Let them help build the fire. Let them burn stuff. You can kill an afternoon with this one alone. Boys especially will burn stuff. Best to learn with supervision rather than unsupervised later in life. My 4 year old recently burned his finger (not too bad). He will be far safer going forward.
- Backyard golf. Just use a tennis ball and one club. See how many strokes it takes to “hit that tree”. Give your kids a one stroke headstart.
- Set up action figures / plastic cups and try to knock them over with rubber bands.
- Nerf gun shooting range. Time it to see how long it takes to shoot the 5 consecutive targets.
- Wrestle. Seriously. Need more wrestling.
- Fort. Use the couch cushions, some chairs, sheets, a table, whatever.
- Uno - undefeated card game.
- Hot lava. Duh. Another classic.
- Make swords out of a bunch of pieces of paper rolled up. Then fight.
- Write a letter and send it to an aunt/uncle/veteran/cousin
- Plan and perform a play. Extra points - film it and send it to grandparents.
- Make up a secret handshake
- Print coloring pages offline and do them while you listen to a book on tape.
Can you give me some more ideas?

. If you get no sleep - you can die.
. If you sleep 1 hour per night - you are extremly tired.
. If you sleep 2 hours per night - your short term memory is affected.
. If you sleep 3 hours per night - Slower reaction time.
. If you sleep 4 hours per night - Easily irritated.
. If you sleep 5 hours per night - Loss of motivation.
. If you sleep 6 hours per night - Decreased concentration.
. If you sleep 7- 8 hours per night - No Risk , this is the ideal sleep duration.
If your sleep pattern is chaos, try this;
• Bed at 8:00 PM → Rise at 3:30 AM
• Bed at 8:30 PM → Rise at 4:00 AM
• Bed at 9:00 PM → Rise at 4:30 AM
• Bed at 9:30 PM → Rise at 5:00 AM
• Bed at 10:00 PM → Rise at 5:30 AM
• Bed at 10:30 PM → Rise at 6:00 AM
• Bed at 11:00 PM → Rise at 6:30 AM
• Bed at 11:30 PM → Rise at 7:00 AM
• Bed at 12:00 AM → Rise at 7:30 AM
Lock in consistent 7.5 - 8 hours with this routine. Pick one and stick.
Early bed = early dominance.
While the weak scroll into the night, you recharge to rule the dawn.
Rest deep. Rise relentless.

The countdown to the #GreatestAmericanCleanup is on, and we’re feeling 🥳😳🤩😱
On July 4, 2026, America will celebrate its 250th birthday, and communities across the country are coming together to make sure we’re ready.

@maxtoscano1 @JoeGoodberry I picked lemon as well for all the reasons listed. I want instant impact plus it lets you move on from other wr

@JoeGoodberry Plus his skillset as an underneath volume guy, shifty man beater, and zone killer complements.
If you ever try the double bracket stuff teams constantly use, he’s man to man on your nickel with no help.

@JamesRapien The trench guy narrative didn’t last long lol 😂

💡I HAVE AN IDEA💡
Kimberley A. Martin@ByKimberleyA
WR Mike Evans WILL return in 2026. His agents Deryk Gilmore + Darren Jones tell me the future HOFer will play this upcoming season — and *will* explore his free agency options. One of the league’s most consistent playmakers will be back — but we’ll see if it’ll be w/ the #Bucs
English

@bengals_sans As long as he takes better angles then the 2 we have on the roster I’m ok with it. As long as they have a good free agency it sets them up for lots of options in the draft even lemon I said what I said.

Let's take a deep dive into Sonny Styles!
What makes the Ohio State LB special, what are his concerns, his schematic fit, and a pro comparison.

@Jimetrics @JakeLiscow Yikes I’m removing him off my bengals draftboard unless rd 2 maybe 3

This isn’t a “hot take.”
I lined Woods up against every Top-10 DT profile I have in my database since the 80s.
The numbers spoke.
And they were loud. patreon.com/posts/every-to…

@JoeGoodberry I think the issue with knight isn’t knight he is fine for a 3rd or 4th rounder but 2nd round is where this draft had loads of talent
English

I think that's how they ended up drafting Demetrius Knight.
They had him ranked 52nd overall.
They used analytics like you all asked!!!!
Jeremy gates@jcgares
@JoeGoodberry I just wish they would use the PFF board. It’s better than their board.
