So that’s the end of Lucas Paqueta at West Ham. Unlike Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma he leaves under a little bit of cloud due to the state the club find themselves in and his general behaviour over the last couple of years. The betting misconduct charges no doubt played a massive part in this and it clearly took a toll on his attitude and performances. An obvious talent with the ball he was never able to consistently show the type of form like other gifted West Ham players were able to and I look at his time at the club as just okay. His impact on the side has often been given much more praise than it deserved and was nowhere near as impactful as someone like Jarrod Bowen. He was though part of that conference league winning side and provided the key assist for us to win it. Like all players in that squad they will always be remembered fondly if only for that trophy win. Lucas Paqueta has had some good moments with West Ham. There just wasn’t enough of them.

Great half from West Ham, full of positivity, pace, attacking in numbers, good work down both flanks, Scarles (from f-b) and Summerville on the left, Bowen giving Reinaldo nightmares on the right. Reinaldo should be off tbh, second challenge on Bowen deserved a yellow. West Ham's front two bringing some energy, opening space for Bowen, Summerville, Fernandes. All good goals: "Jimmy’s" header, Bowen’s low pen even with slight slip (it was a pen, Hume on Scarles, but VAR probably wouldn't have intervened if ref hadn't given it), and Fernandes’ stunning long-ranger. I don't think Mateus Fernandes will be joining West Ham in the Championship... In fact, if he keeps playing like this, West Ham won't be heading down to the Championship after all.

That's #WHUFC done. Nuno has been an absolute disaster of an appointment but ultimately this is a result of years of mismanagement and a board who have sold the club's soul. And they are still chucking money away in this transfer window.
