I have no fidelity to #Senegal. I have no fidelity to #Maroc #Morocco. My fidelity, as far the 2025 #AFCON final is concerned, is to the truth, facts and what is in the best interests of #football in #Africa, no matter whose ox is gored. Let this be unquestionably clear…

Depending on the level of escalation of this war people will learn how overrated American systems are relative to the costs and how unsuited many are for modern combat Best way I can explain it is this, if you need a truck for a particular task, using a Bentley truck or a Lambo truck does not make your job easier because the truck costs 6 times more, an old hilux can probably do the job

The F-35 program was billed as the most advanced stealth fighter ever. It cost us $2 trillion over 20 years. And it gets clipped by a missile belonging to a military that I have been told repeatedly by the Pentagon was totally defeated. LOL. Hope the pilots are OK, tho!

In 2011, Jonathan ran when many in the north believed it was still their turn. The PDP’s zoning understanding meant a northerner was expected by many to complete that cycle after Yar’Adua’s death interrupted it. Jonathan ran anyway and won. Many in the north did not forget. By 2015, they had a performance case to add to that grievance. Boko Haram had ravaged the north-east and his administration could not contain it. During Jonathan’s later years, Nigeria posted headline GDP growth, but the gains were uneven. Poverty did not fall in line with that growth, and in many places hardship persisted or worsened, especially in the north. His own party fractured and lost key figures to the opposition. Buhari dominated much of the Muslim north. Jonathan held most of the south and parts of the Christian Middle Belt. The electoral map locked into those lines. The failures of Jonathan’s government were real, but they did not create the bloc that voted against him. They made it easier to consolidate. The northern voter who acted on that in 2015 would spend the next eight years in a country where earlier economic gains gave way to strain, alongside widespread insecurity and unmet expectations. 🐝🐆

😳 "He's a YouTube player, a Baller League player." ❌ "He isn't made for the Premier League. He was too protected." 👀 "He isn't a team player. He's arrogant, selfish & vain." Jason Cundy doesn't hold back on his thoughts on Neymar amid comparisons to Wayne Rooney 🔥

If the football rules were applied fairly and consistently, would Morocco have made it to the final?

Neymar had 5 years at Barcelona. That’s it, five. The rest of the time he’s swanning about on holiday in Paris and Saudi Arabia & you’re trying to tell me that’s more impressive than Rooney who ended his career as both Manchester United and England’s top goalscorer. Incomparable.

The $1 trillion economy in motion. That phrase captures something real about where Nigeria is right now. Not at the destination, but genuinely on the road, and further along that road than the conversation outside Nigeria has tended to acknowledge.
HCI-MCI@drhcimci

Nigeria is no longer “hope-based”… it’s becoming data-driven. At The Africa Capital Forum, London, global investors asked one thing: “Can we trust Nigeria again?” And this time… Nigeria answered with numbers.

🇿🇦 South Africa coach Hugo Broos blames CAF, not Senegal or Morocco, for "once again being inconsistent in application of their own rules." Says if they had immediately punished Senegal for going off the pitch for 17 mins in the final, we won't be here.

Wayne Rooney was a better player than Neymar. By a country mile. There isn’t one aspect of football where Neymar outshines Rooney. Vision, output, effectiveness, mentality…it’s all Rooney. Some things in football are to be debated, others are straight up fact, this is the latter

@osasuo Should? Why? Let's forget this pretense to fairness. If we start looking at what should har been, Morocco has no reason being in the final at all.

What are the facts? 1. Morocco should have been declared the winner of the AFCON, when Senegal left the field of play for 15 minutes. 2. The referee didn’t do this, as he should have, and resumed play. As a result of resuming play, the game was not abandoned. 3. Senegal, having resumed play, with the referee’s consent, and scoring a winning goal, are the legitimate winners of the AFCON, according to the IFAB Laws of the Game. Is this fair to #Morocco? No. But is #Senegal the legitimate winner of the 2025 AFCON? Yes. The unvarnished truth may be hard to swallow. But the truth it is.
