@RiceExtension With PI fast approaching, imagery for N uptake predictions+maps is crucial. There was a delay in the (clear!) 25/12 image from the satellite provider, but it should be in the dashboards tomorrow (though still waiting on the cloud mask so may be marker 'prelim').

Another huge effort from the @RiceExtension team pulling together another annual benchmarking report, full of insight into what makes the difference in rice yield and quality. Appreciate opportunity to contribute analyses, dashboards from our @AgriFuturesAU real-time rice project

The fluctuations were due to variations in solar and sensor angles, atmosphere and S-2A vs S-2B sensor bias on RS time-series. Harmonized Landsat Sentinel-2 (HLS) and top of atmosphere (TOA) both had these fluctuations, and both benefited from our new correction methods.

New paper in @IEEE_GRSS JSTARS: "Empirical Correction of Sentinel-2 Time Series Data to Enhance Real-Time Rice Crop Monitoring". We developed ML models to correct fluctuations in satellite time-series to improve real-time crop monitoring. Rice dashboards pre and post correction:
