Although the Digital Markets Bill is now unlikely to make it through, the intention was to legislate to ban this kind of practice. I still think it's in breach of the Consumer Rights Act. Might expect it from the Spectator but not the NE. What do you think @campbellclaret?

Disappointed that progressive news outlet @TheNewEuropean plays the subscription trap game so aggressively. No notification of my renewal, & when I spotted the transaction on my statement & asked to cancel, I was pointed to the Ts&Cs & refused a refund
