@SHistorians How do / did folks get season tickets in the first place?

Right or wrong, the folks who get Masters tickets on an annual basis and who sell them are in a corner. The Masters has hundreds of millions of dollars of resources. They could easily employ folks to buy tickets off the street and/or via the online ticket market and cancel those season ticket holders. If they truly want to end the re-sale market, it would take a couple years but they could destroy the secondary market.

Australian golf culture so is much better than USA golf culture. It’s not close. Before my fellow Americans get mad, at least read first. It’s crazy how much better they do almost everything. 5 reasons why Australian golf rules:

Victoria Golf Club #93/Top 100 world 1927 - Alister MacKenzie Private Nestled next door to Royal Melbourne and down the road from Kingston Heath, Victoria stays under the radar comparatively to those stalwarts. But dare I say it…it deserves to be in the same convo. Victoria is so much fun. Its land and style sits right in between those other courses. It’s less hilly than RM, way more than Kingston. It’s not as wide as RM, but provides more breathing room than Kingston Heath. The bunkering is incredible. It’s so tightly edged and cut into every green. They make the greens smaller then they appear, when combined with the firm and fast turf. The short par 4’s are so fun. Thanks to the crazy firmness, even a 350 yard par 4 can be attacked if downhill and downwind. The first hole is a 265 yard par 4, ripe for an opening birdie or double lol. The firmness and sloping fairways mean you really have to judge your distance. 250 yards to lay up before a bunker? You legit may need to hit your 180 club. 230 from a green? May want to hit your 190 club…and you still may go too far. The greens are fabulous, with good sized slopes. False front and sides are there to real havoc when you hit the wrong place. Also many of the greens have tight roll offs behind the greens punishing those who come in hot. The clubhouse is incredible and a rare original. Tons of Peter Thomson memorabilia is around, saluting the past member and 5 time Open Champion. Victoria is about as much fun as you can have on a golf course. A perfect day with an amazing host and friend.

The crazy part is, I have some sort of subscription because I watch Espanyol matches on ESPN+ But I can’t watch MNF. I don’t understand it and quite frankly just don’t really care to figure it out right now. Just frustrating. All of it.
