@jameshipwell @MartinSLewis Vanguard's creditors can't touch customer assets if they go bust. They have to be held separately from Vanguard's own assets to be FCA compliant FSCS is more for cash balance protection over funds. They're covered by segregation rules instead

I’ve now had the chance to look at this in more detail. Worse than I thought. It proposes the blatant US expropriation of Ukrainian resources, including huge reparation payments and claims to half of Ukraine’s oil, gas, and hydrocarbon resources plus almost all its metals and much of its infrastructure. This would all be done by a United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund controlling Ukraine’s “critical minerals or other minerals, oil, natural gas, fuels or other hydrocarbons and other extractable materials”. The Fund would be based — wait for it — in Delaware and effectively be under US control. I suspect Zelensky could get better terms from Putin!

Trump has escalated his demands big time in the new ‘deal’ he’s now proposing with Ukraine. He wants substantial profits from Ukrainian economic projects across metals, oil, gas, and other natural resources, as well as infrastructure projects including ports and pipelines. It’s the sort of deal you impose on a conquered country not one that’s supposed to be an ally fighting for its life. No way can Ukraine accept this. Trump wants Kyiv to surrender to Moscow and Washington!
