Death and Generations I have been very impatient with God lately. There is something I have waited on for years. But today, I asked myself why I was irritable. After all, God is incapable of lying, so his promises will eventually come to pass. Abraham, the Patriarch, waited decades for a son. Jesus, our Saviour, is still waiting for God to put everything under his feet. I realised I was impatient because my life was slowly expiring in annual instalments. Time was creating an unspoken pressure, and I was feeling the weight of it. So I had to stop panicking by remembering what I have learned about death and eternity. Life In Four Instalments As a Christian, I believe life will unfold in four instalments for me - Earth, Heaven, the Millennial Kingdom, and the New Earth. Heaven is an interregnum and is not my final home as a human being. The New Earth is my permanent residence (Revelation 21:1). Therefore, there are promises God has made to me personally that I know will come to pass in the New Earth. There are things he has asked me to do that are setting the stage for responsibilities I will hold millennia later (Luke 19:17). It sounds radical, but is as real to me as water. I am reminded of those prophets who predicted the Messiah, only to encounter him in Heaven (Hebrews 11:13). Building For Eternity Some Christians intuitively understand the different timeframes and chapters in eternity. It is why they build works of gold that can endure, while holding on to nothing on this earth (1 Corinthians 3:13-14). They are building for eternity, not merely their temporal years on earth. Those believers see themselves as stewards of all they possess and understand that what will endure is faith, hope and love. Prototypes, Types and Shadows In this walk of faith, I believe God works with prototypes, types, and shadows (Hebrews 8:5). A man named Abraham offered his son first, albeit figuratively. Only then did God give his own Son, Jesus. Moses built a tabernacle, a copy of what was in heaven. God’s will is first established in heaven and then expressed on earth, and then finally in the new heaven and earth. (Matthew 6:10). It is a grand continuum moving toward eternity. Generations and Infrastructure All of this unfolds over many generations and vast timelines. What has been done before will happen again, until finally all things are made new. That is why generational infrastructure matters. The fathers and mothers must lay foundations for the sons and daughters. It is a spiritual relay race of inheritance and responsibility (2 Timothy 2:2). For instance, without Kathryn Kuhlman (1907 - 1976), Pa Elton (1938 - 1987) or Archbishop Benson Idahosa (1938 - 1998), there would be no new-generation churches. Their labour created the platforms others now stand upon. We forget there was a time when wearing certain clothes was a serious issue in the Church. There was a period when the doctrine of grace was not widely understood. We now take speaking in tongues for granted as well as the freedom to serve God in the marketplace. There was even an era when worship was not broadly recognised as a substantive ministry through which healing and deliverance could occur. It was only seen as a supporting item before preaching happened. The older generation laid strong foundations. What a lineage of grace! But how quickly we forget. An Unbroken Chain I no longer want to be impatient with God. There is no point. If his promise takes years or millennia, I will do what is in front of me now - building Kingdom prototypes and laying generational foundation stones. I will add to the unbroken chain of faith that began long before I was born and will continue after I have left this side of eternity. So help me God.

No billboard, no investment summit, no tourism campaign can compete with what people see with their own eyes the moment they land. A dirty airport road tells visitors wrongly that Lagos is chaotic, unserious, and careless with its environment. The painful part is that this problem is AVOIDABLE.
Airport Road should be one of the most protected, most maintained corridors in the state. Illegal dumping should be impossible there. Waste management should be airtight. Monitoring should be constant. If we want to be taken seriously on the global stage, then the basics must be respected. You don’t welcome guests through a dirty front door. The question is simple:
If we cannot keep the road that welcomes the world into Lagos clean, what message are we truly sending about who we are? Keep Lagos State Clean #environment #cleancity

Ikoyi is known as one of the richest and most exclusive neighbourhoods in Nigeria. It has luxury homes, big offices, and high property values. But the environment tells a different story. There are open drainage channels along the roads. Many gutters are filled with dirt, stagnant water, and waste. In some places, the smell from these drains is strong and unpleasant. This leads to an important question: If Ikoyi one of the wealthiest areas in the country, can have open drains, dirty gutters, and bad odour, what would we find in places with fewer resources like Okokomaiko, Sangotedo, or Ikotun? Clean and well-maintained drainage is not about luxury. It is about health, safety, and proper city management. #ikoyi #environment #lagosstate

Some of us as Nigerians continue to hear of federal government grants or programs eg BOI in billions and yet it never gets to us. If persons that need such aids are sidetracked from such benefits, then it is clear again that the system is rigged against real growth. Sad. @FinMinNigeria @MinOfInteriorNG @NOA_Nigeria

@SirJarus Leverage is key. See your job as a platform to leverage to create and grow value. With broad outlook, see your salary on a 9-5 job is only a subset of the value you can extract. The key to unlock your wealth may be resident in your colleague You have to look beyond to see beyond!

Short answer For those I have observed and seen, they work more on their earning power. Their earning increases progressively. And they deploy their income wisely. Long answer If we define rich by asset of over N750m naira, here are some tips from those that I see get to that level from 9-5: 1. Type of jobs The jobs they get are top jobs (top oil companies, top departments in top banks or some specialized subsidiaries, tech, international organizations etc) with good salaries, bonuses and other perks. It may be tough to move beyond middle class in regular 9-5. You mentioned “rich”, so the type of job has to be the one at the top of chart 2. Personal development They invest in themselves - write professional exams required by their profession, masters, become very good at their job/profession. They can easily move to better companies. 3. Career progress Very good in their work, get regular promotion (= regular payrise), become important to their company. Someone earning N2m today won’t continue to earn N2m forever. As they grow in career, their earning increases significantly 4. Expenses They are very deliberate in planning their expenses. Some plan their foreign holidays to a time their company wants to send them abroad for official work. For example, the company wants to send them to the UK for a 5 day training. They plan their vacation in the UK to start immediately after the end of the 5th day. That means the return flight cost and hotel costs for 5 of the 12 days they spend in the UK are covered by their company Company policies like health insurance (HMO) also save them a lot of expenses. Imagine all their childbirths, family hospital bills on their employer. Many maintain small families too. 4. Loans They explore personal loan opportunities available to their type of job. In some jobs, banks chase you with loans. They pay back over 4-5 years from their salaries. As one finishes, they move to another. They explore cooperative societies and other group financing opportunities. 5. Investment Many invest in properties (lands, houses) using these bank and cooperative finances. Some lands bought for N20m in 2015 are now worth N200m. I know someone that worked in one of these companies that finished a house worth N60m in 2015. That house is worth minimum of N350m today. Some invest in other things. I know some that opened supermarkets as side hustle. Group finance leveraging their company’s cooperative also helps. Cooperative negotiates and buys land in bulk and resell to members, while they pay over time. By their 15th year of working, some can boast of net assets worth at least N750 million - 2 plots of lands bought at N20m each in 2015 are worth N150m each by 2025 = N300m - 2 houses (N40m) financed through cooperative, bank loans, savings etc are now worth N200m = N400m - a supermarket started with N30m now worth N150m - cash in balance of about N50m The above totals N900m million. - if they still have a loan balance of N100m with cooperatives and banks, that’s N800m net assets. If you then ask, but I said 9-5, why all of these? 1. 9-5 is still the seed of all of these 2. 9-5 does not mean you should not invest 3. Banks give them loan because of the security of their 9-5 job 4. They have access to group financing because of 9-5 5. 9-5 does not mean you should keep money lying idle in bank and not use it to multiply (people make this mistake when talking down 9-5) 6. You are exposed to these opportunities because of a good 9-5 job What they use their salaries for - save a part with bank, cooperative etc - use a part to pay back loans - use a part to cover personal expenses Other sources of income that augment their salaries - rental income from a house built or bought with 9-5 pay - dividends (cooperative, some invest in shares) - side hustle income (supermarket in this case). And this is a conservative estimate still. Some top guys are legit naira billionaires from these things
Moyosoreoluwa@moyoscooooo

I need a rich 9-5 person to explain how they became rich How they handled their bills and still had savings to do other things in life I need a rich 9-5 worker podcast please, everything is becoming blurry over here and I need motivation 😭

I have seen this too. And it scares me. Shocked when I heard the current economic situation of someone that was once a bank CEO, a governor and a minister. Before then, I saw a former senator that could barely afford a car again. It scared me. I have been quietly studying how people like Okoya sustained their wealth for 50 years.

There is no amount of power or influence or wealth that one possesses in Nigeria that cannot disappear. People have gone from long-ass official convoys to not being able to fuel big generator. (Not saying it doesn't happen elsewhere—I'm simply choosing to focus on Nigeria)

Kemi Badenoch stop lying I went to a federal school too. We had tractors and slashers that cut grass. Grass cutting with cutlass and doing portion was to imbibe a sense of responsibility. Stop putting Nigeria down. Aunty Jemima! What you didn’t also say was the highly reduced tuition fee in such federal schools and the decent foundation of education it gave you. I am not saying Everything is perfect but Kemi cutting grass is not a big deal. I have a small garden farm in the village and I try to tend to the farm.
