The Ben Wallace argument that a Chancellor resigning is a "dereliction of duty" is historically illiterate and obvious nonsense. Is he seriously suggesting they should never quit regardless of how venal/corrupt the PM is?

@PepperellEddie @henrikstenson I will never understand the hate athletes get for maximising the amount of money they can make during their careers. It’s their job… and they can only do it for a limited time. But the sponsors/commercial partners of these events don’t receive the same backlash.

Quite a sobering thought for UK politics that a dishonest and incompetent PM (despite his 80-seat majority) has been booted out of office rather swiftly. When compared to the state of politics in the US and the lingering political presence of Fmr. Pres Trump 1/2

It does seem constitutionally unviable that a PM should and could continue in office when he does not command the confidence of his party nevermind the HoC. PM can't even fill vacant ministerial posts. A caretaker has to be the way forward until a new PM can be placed in office.
