
Grapevine Fire EMS was honored for Life-Saving Response to an 8-year-old boy in a Cardiac Emergency: Yesterday, the staff at Medical City Children's Hospital brought an abundance of gratitude and a whole lot of heart to honor @GrapevineFireTX EMS for their swift response and heroic efforts that helped save 8-year-old Andre during a cardiac emergency. The team from @MedCityChildren's Hospital recognized the outstanding efforts of Grapevine EMS for their quick response and life-saving intervention to a 911 call involving an 8-year-old boy. The child, Andre, has a pacemaker to aid his congenital heart defect and experienced a life-threatening event when the pacemaker battery failed. His mother began hands-only CPR, and thanks to the swift life-saving actions of the Grapevine EMS, he was stabilized and transported for emergency care. The boy was treated and later discharged from Medical City Children’s Hospital. We thank the Medical City Children's Hospital staff for recognizing the efforts of the Grapevine dispatcher and our EMS staff. Medical City Children’s Hospital offers a Level IV NICU, the highest level of neonatal care available in Dallas.
