i know there's going to be an adjustment period but man do i not enjoy gpt as my primary model. 100% subjective in every way. just been a real bummer of a morning using gpt for everything. i'd become so unbelievably productive and so i acutely feel when something changes.

@cathrynlavery @Chase @mercury I ran into the same issue recently. If you are able login with the mobile app, then you can try what Claude recommended - it worked for me 🤞

@chongdashu Looking forward to reading. I recently tried to one shot a simple threejs game with Codex and, well, it didn't go well ... especially compared to what I see others on X doing ... so I assume it's operator error 😁

By popular demand, I'm making a tutorial for how I vibe coded this game from scratch. I always capture every prompt I use when working on projects (I have my own $ capture skill) AI then helps to organise it. Written form first. hopefully (if time permits) - I'll do a video.
Chong-U@chongdashu

Just a couple of prompts from start to finish into a playable game! Pixel-perfect art > Codex App w/ GPT 5.5 High > Images 2.0 for animations (except walkcycles) > WAN 2.0 for walkcycles (cheap!) > 11Labs for bgm/sfx (in 1 prompt) > Phaser 4 Sound ON🔉 Full tutorial anyone?

I find myself using Grok more and more, at this point its in my daily routine along with Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity. The one friction point is the lack of a desktop app. Really miss the system wide hotkeys to trigger a chat along with not being stuck in browser. @nikitabier any hope/chance for this in the future?

@chongdashu i want to make a few games with my girls (8, 11) to get them excited about AI, past “talking to chatgpt”, so +1 on a tutorial, write up, walkthrough etc of how/what you did.

If you use AI to generate pixel art You'll know that while the frames look good... They are often times not aligned -- making your character slide all around. As part of my suite of tools to fix this, I vibe coded a tool to help me align frames to ensure this doesn't happen.

@sweatystartup Well and then after skimming this overly lengthy likely AI written clickbate article, to find "Apple is dead" is not what Naval has said to begin with 🙄

It's definitely better, sorta varies depending on provider, but after testing them IMO in most cases latency is still is not low enough... like its noticeable. Ultimately moved from Twilio to ClawdTalk, which telnyx's turn key integration they have for OC. First and only service/integration I have tried so far where I dont think latency would be noticeable to a normal person. It blew me away, after trying to deal with the other providers. Apparently Telnyx is more full stack so latency is lower, according to what my Agent said 🤣

@Shpigford @CasJam I've been down the rabbit hole and superset(.sh) is the one I'd consider an alternative. Last week I switched and have been sorta trialing it since then, so it's been fairly solid experience. They are shipping fast it seems.

@CasJam haven't really found a comparable alternative that wasn't just duct taping things together. this feels like a truly native way to work on multiple features/bugs/projects all at the same time and magically abstracts all the gnarly worktree + setup stuff for you.

Such a huge fan of Conductor. I easily spend the vast majority of my day in it. Single biggest productivity multiplier for me after Claude Code itself.
Charlie Holtz@charlieholtz

Big news for @conductor_build! We've raised a $22m Series A from Spark and Matrix. We raised this round from @ilyasu at Matrix, who also led our seed round and is joining our board, @nabeel at Spark, @ycombinator, and founders of Notion and Linear. We're grateful to be working with investors we trust and admire. Here’s how we got here and where we’re going:

Agency > Intelligence I had this intuitively wrong for decades, I think due to a pervasive cultural veneration of intelligence, various entertainment/media, obsession with IQ etc. Agency is significantly more powerful and significantly more scarce. Are you hiring for agency? Are we educating for agency? Are you acting as if you had 10X agency? Grok explanation is ~close: “Agency, as a personality trait, refers to an individual's capacity to take initiative, make decisions, and exert control over their actions and environment. It’s about being proactive rather than reactive—someone with high agency doesn’t just let life happen to them; they shape it. Think of it as a blend of self-efficacy, determination, and a sense of ownership over one’s path. People with strong agency tend to set goals and pursue them with confidence, even in the face of obstacles. They’re the type to say, “I’ll figure it out,” and then actually do it. On the flip side, someone low in agency might feel more like a passenger in their own life, waiting for external forces—like luck, other people, or circumstances—to dictate what happens next. It’s not quite the same as assertiveness or ambition, though it can overlap. Agency is quieter, more internal—it’s the belief that you *can* act, paired with the will to follow through. Psychologists often tie it to concepts like locus of control: high-agency folks lean toward an internal locus, feeling they steer their fate, while low-agency folks might lean external, seeing life as something that happens *to* them.”

Intelligence is on tap now so agency is even more important

Providing update for anyone following along! Replit had the most impressive and polished game, despite the broken map (like all other AI/agents), so I've been working to figure out how to correct it. Talking to Claude, it recommended a specific prompt to provide to Replit, which changed the maps to be powered by D3. I did that, but couldn't get the map to load after repeated attempts to debug with Replit. I went back to Claude and it gave me another suggestion (and packaged prompt) to use Highcharts. I'm working through some minor bugs with Replit, but things appear to be promising and I have a semi-working map - closer than I've ever been!

Some credit where it is due - perhaps partial credit? ChatGPT 5 Pro Agent did create a basic (emphasis on basic compared to other attempts) game with an interactive map that ACTUALLY displays. But it asks the player to find/click on a state... while showing all the state names on the map. When asked to you know remove the state names, it broke the game 😆

Today I learned, in vibe coding, that creating an interactive map of the United States - for reasons I'm not quite sure - seems nearly impossible for AI/agents. I blew through my Claude quota almost instantly. Switched to Replit, which is on it's 13th attempt to fix the problems with nothing to show for it. Manus and ChatGPT 5 Pro Agent are working on their own attempts, though at this point I am not optimistic 🤣 I thought I was going to swoop in and save the day, vibe coding a quick fun interactive game for my daughter to help her learn US states and capitals, but alas...

@pirroh Ignoring the interactive map struggles, the app/game Replit created was the most polished and full featured. Manus being a distant second. I’m going to take another pass 🤞

Replit (and Claude/others) actually did find that resource specifically and tried to incorporate it. So things were going in the right direction early on, maybe even initially. I think the hangup was taking the SVG and then using it to make an interactive type map where each state was labeled, had hover state or could be clicked/selected, etc.
