Britain could lose the Falklands because of weak leadership. It's not the 80s anymore, there's no Thatcher in charge and the UK is a depressing shell of its former self. If Argentina simply walks in and takes over, possibly soon with Trump's approval, what exactly will Keir Starmer do? Send an angry worded letter? Would he even care at all?

@snbbtd @NiohBerg Firstly despite what others say the US DID actually help us in the Falklands War. That said I am not sure these Yanks realize we have a garrisoned island and wouldn't fall and Argentina would have no appetite for the mainland being hit by sub launched ballistic missiles.

The UK would have lost the last Falklands war if it wasn’t for US support, not much has changed since that time to strength the UK armed forces they’ve rely heavily on the US for military protection. Not sure they could do anything if Argentina decided to take back the Falkland islands….
