The only impact NHL players they got in 7 drafts were seguin, Hamilton (top 10 picks) then grezlyk. Hell the drafts before and after his tenure were the big drafts for them

@paislanderr @taj1944 I mean hodgson was good but awful injury luck, and then 3 late first. I just looked and in the 10 picks after each of them, only 3 nhlers were picked. Going 0/3 in late 20s picks isn't crazy, and gaunce was a better nhler than over half the guys picked after those 3

I feel like this is what happened
- Wild panicked and gave Kaprizov a blank check
- Kings thought the market was really changing, so they give Kempe the double digit AAV
- Mammoth give Schmaltz 8x8
- The market didn’t seem to shift the way we thought it would
