My honest opinion on a potential Iraola appointment don't hate me this isn't going to be popular 😂👇 He would be an absolutely massive gamble. Before this season his managerial record was extremely unimpressive and including this season his win rate is still only 37% at Bournemouth. He has won absolutely nothing of note in his managerial career. No manager in the past 2 decades has come from a smaller Premier League club to a bigger and succeeded. Been a Liverpool manager and Bournemouth is 2 completely different things. Personality wise he much quieter than a Enrique or Klopp, it helps when Liverpool managers are charismatic with fanbase. Have no doubt big attraction to Iraola over Alonso, is Iraola is happy to be just head coach Alonso wanted more control. Have no doubt Iraola is Richard Hughes man after he already appointed him at Bournemouth. Have to be honest with ye😄

1) No I'm not actually right wing 2) Bonnie Blue is a Reform supporter 3) No I don't think being left wing is depraved 4) I'm sorry for taking the piss on this app. I should have realised that's a fatal error and I will endeavour not to repeat to repeat this sin in future

@HenryJackson87 He needs a loan. A year of playing football every week will do him the world of good, it really worked for Saliba of Arsenal. We then need 2 new center backs with Gomez also moving on.

One thing I do think some people are sleeping on a bit is just how special a talent Leoni is. He looked so good on his debut before his injury - I have total faith he will quickly be a very important player, regardless of his age.

@ReassessHistory @Andyhb84 I thought about this and agree. Love his podcasts but you need serious academics giving insight and he isn't that. Agree with you regarding the show but I'm enjoying the incredible footage regardless.

Sausages without Mustard World War II with Tom Hanks falls rather short, as in trying to cater for everyone it treads over old ground devoid of the insight of previous programmes, such as The World at War. Most contributors are good, Dan Carlin for one should be no where near, but they add little other than affirming core narrative. Wasted opportunity. The subject remains fascinating due to the entwined anecdotes and multi-national narratives/perspectives, underpinned by very human experiences, feeling completely lost so far. Real disappointment. #WW2 #SWW #History

@ClarkeMicah @stuartG666 The thinking was that if Germany beats Russia and France then it dominates Europe. Once that happened that logically the British Empire would be threatened. I think that makes sense, though I agree with you about the senseless & wasteful way the war was fought by all sides.

.@stuartg666. 1/2 There was a very good alternative in 1914. Don't join a stupid war between Germany and Russia in which we had no stake.
stuart galbraith@stuartG666

@ClarkeMicah @20committee Till 1916, there wasnt an alternative. Even when they had the tank, it didnt really deliver worthwhile results till 1917, and arguably didnt become a real warwinner till 1918.

@AndyBurnhamGM @InstituteGC Cameron and Osborne did all that he suggests for business, the result was zero or very little growth. All our income is going to privatised businesses for foreign share holders. It's a neo liberal disaster.

Made it my life’s mission to become the Taliban’s worst nightmare: A highly educated Afghan woman. First, Columbia University at the top of my class, and now Oxford University. Give Afghan girls one chance and see what they can achieve.

I genuinely started to feel bad for Arne Slot when I saw him sitting alone during Mohamed Salah and Robertson’s farewell yesterday. It made me reflect on how hard many of us have gone at him this season over Liverpool’s failures. What if he has seen all the hate online? At some point, would it not start to feel like bullying? I still think Liverpool need to sack him, but that moment honestly made me feel for him a little.

Liverpool. Slot will stay because Liverpool aren't a reactive club. They'll have all key data on injures, performers and the intangibles like Salah and Robbo going allowing Isak, Wirtz and Ekitike to be "top men" and spread their wings. But... Another season like this without significant improvement in tempo, clean sheets and in game dominance will see a change a year hence. 🔴🔴

Japanese Soldier Gets a Smoke After Surrendering on Iwo Jima 🇯🇵🇺🇸 After weeks of hell, this Japanese defender finally gives up… and a U.S. Marine casually lights a cigarette for him. War is brutal, but this moment was pretty cool.

@afneil You need to get out of London, Andrew. You’ve clearly got no idea how much people here are struggling. And, yes, a lot of it can be traced back to Margaret Thatcher.

Except that it purports to claim that the area (Makerfield) has been a victim of 40 years of Thatcherism (that’s what Burnham seems to be running against, which means he’s also running against the Blair-Brown government, of which he was a part). Yet the backdrop to his wandering shows rows of neat, well-kept, substantial semi-detached homes, with plenty new cars in the driveways and a vibrant high street, despite all the road works improving it. Oh yes and a state school so good he sent his kids to it. Put simply — the pictures clash with his words of victimhood and deprivation.

If Burnham wins, we'll get 2 years of bland centrism with bits of centre-leftism, then 5 years of a Progressive Lab+Grn+LD(?) Coalition then PR. If he loses, we'll get 2 more years of Starmer (or Streeting), then 5 years at least of fascism under Reform and eternal FPTP.
