@legroff Entirely agree! In 2017-2018 I found myself in a lot of Dutch towns for work, and so many fit your description. The Hague, Rotterdam, Amersfoot, Leiden. (Dutch food far better than advertised too!)

I went to Utrecht today. Wildly charming! And the best example of urban planning I’ve ever seen, with a car-free center of canals, thriving shops, restaurants, bookstores, all a short walk to a giant train station. And not even 15 minutes to Amsterdam. 100% would live there.

@VPM_IanStewart RVA is one of the only major municipalities from here to Maine that does not offer yard waste composting. This must change, and quickly. I believe current momentum around composting in @RVAgreen2050 plans will result in meaningful progress on this front.

This is such a waste I’m so many ways: waste of time (as more leaves have fallen), a waste of plastic, a waste of space in a landfill, a wasted opportunity to mulch these leaves & use them for compost.

This is going to be gamechanging for the city over the next few years. Watch. (Or better: engage!)

Composting brings so many benefits — from reducing landfill and decreasing methane to enhancing gardens and bringing community together. This is a no-brainer! Let’s do it.
