I don't know how "democracy" is exercised through a partisan 13 member committee that ignores, and doesn't even concern itself with, the will of 6 million Minnesotans. But... sure.
Mayor Zach Lindstrom@MoundsViewMayor

My position on the flag conversation is that I think we should always be flying the current adopted flag. The reason I feel that way is that it respects democracy. I feel going back to the old flag would be very disrespectful and it would be undermining the democratic process that yielded the current flag. The new flag wasn’t my favorite of the options however it has since grown on me especially post metro surge. I saw the flag become the symbol of perseverance and unity and it really stuck with me and made me proud of our new flag. The pain and suffering we endured from metro surge was felt all across the state and right here at home in Mounds View. The flag was a central symbol of light in the darkness that was metro surge. We will likely do a proclamation and a flag dedication in the near future to cement our commitment to flying this flag and I would also like to see us adopt an ordinance stating we will fly whatever the current adopted flag is further reinforcing our commitment to democracy and the state and the place we call home. In regard to the old 1983 flag there had been attempts to change it for years. I don’t have any real attachment to it other than it’s all I have known. After 43 years It was time for a change. The old flag also had some racial undertones to it that does not reflect my values or our values as a city. I will admit I never saw the flag that way but have since learned about its history and nowhere in my conscience do I want us to be one of the cities who go back to that. Mounds View is a city where EVERYONE is WELCOME. We have done tremendous work to address our own racist past, and we will continue to work on it. We will continue to be a beacon of what is possible when good government works to serve its people and I think we are doing just that and the old flag does not fit in that equation.

The Star Tribune is running a puff piece portraying Amy Klobuchar as a moderate. Don’t buy it. Amy Klobuchar praised Tim Walz every step of the way throughout his tenure as governor. Nothing changes if Minnesotans keep electing the same people who have been running this state for the last 30 years. She will Spanberger Minnesota faster than she can throw a stapler at an intern.

It couldn't be more clear that black "representation" has nothing to do with electing people who "look like me." It has always been about Democrat power.

🇺🇸 A CNN panel struggles to explain how Tennessee redistricing is racist, despite the fact a white man is likely to be replaced by a black woman. Problem is, the white guy is a Democrat, the black woman is a Republican. Inconvenient diversity.

🚨 Minnesota Rep. Leigh Finke (D) says it’s “Eradicationist” to verify U.S. citizenship and voter eligibility as they try to “build a vibrant trans capital of America.” Every single Democrat voted with Finke to block voter verification in Minnesota. Legitimately insane.

🚨 Minnesota Democrats just voted against requiring the Secretary of State to verify that every voter is a U.S. citizen and legally eligible to vote in our elections. If you thought the daycare and Medicaid fraud was bad… just imagine how bad the election fraud is.

Tim Walz and the Democrat trifecta spent an $18 billion surplus, raised taxes by $10 billion and enabled a culture of fraud that stole billions more. Amy Klobuchar endorsed Walz for vice president and then she endorsed him again for a third term as governor. Minnesotans are ready for real change. Klobuchar is just more of the same.

@SenJohnKennedy But as you’ve said before, the democrats don’t have common sense. Honestly, all republicans need to do for policy is do the exact opposite of whatever democrats are doing!

Our Delano native, Joe McDonald, gets this issue completely right… The original Minnesota state flag represented our history, our heritage, and the people who built this state. The new flag never should have been pushed through without a real vote by the Legislature and without giving Minnesotans a direct voice in the process. A lot of Minnesotans look at the new design and feel like it no longer reflects Minnesota. Communities across the state are already pushing back and choosing to fly the historic flag again because tradition and identity still matter. facebook.com/share/v/1HdDqk…

After reading this article, I don’t believe this is the direction Minnesota agriculture should be heading. Large corporate factory farms continue to push out the small family farms that have been the backbone of our rural communities for generations. As someone whose family has deep farming roots here in Wright County, I believe we need policies that protect local farmers, support fair competition, and preserve the land, water, and com make places like Delano strong. startribune.com/controlled-ani…

Yesterday was a great day at the CD6 Republican Convention, and I wanted to share a few pictures from the event. I was honored to spend time with Congressman Tom Emmer, Speaker Lisa Demuth, Kendall Qualls, and many strong leaders working to move Minnesota forward. Grateful for the conversations, the energy, and the shared commitment to our communities.

Today I had the honor of attending and participating in the endorsement process at the CD6 Republican Convention. It was great connecting with so many dedicated delegates, activists, and volunteers who are stepping up to shape the future of Minnesota and our country. Congratulations to @GOPMajorityWhip getting the CD6 endorsement for U.S. Congress with over 80% of the delegate vote. I also had the opportunity to meet and speak with State House Speaker @LisaDemuthMN, @KendallQuallsMN , and several other candidates seeking state and federal office. The conversations throughout the day reinforced something important: people are ready for leadership focused on economic strength, safe communities, and accountable government. Conventions like this remind us that politics isn’t just about elections — it’s about people coming together, sharing ideas, and building momentum for the future. Thank you to everyone who organized, volunteered, and participated in making the CD6 Convention a success!
