@David_Moscrop At that distance I'd say a 55" will certainly do you... I sit about that distance from my 55" office/gaming TV & no issues. That said, you could go bigger if your space allows it. I think the resolution and capabilities of the TV are prolly more important

Okay, real talk. We need a new TV and I'd like a good one for gaming. It'll be in the basement and will sit between 7 and 8 feet from the couch, depending on how far back we push the sitting area. In theory, we could push to almost 8.5 feet. What say you: 55"? Or do I go bigger?

#5SecondReview: Evil Dead I + II First watched these at a 7th grade b-day party, and so began a lifelong love of Raimi, Campbell, horror, indie films. I sampled them for my radio show, interviewed Raimi for a newspaper, and have quoted their one-liners all my life. Just joy. 🥲

@jeffjarvis It's easy to be nostalgic for a world you never knew b/c you never experienced the miracle of change. As someone who grew up in a rural area with no cable and 5 channels on a good day & a tiny library of well-warn VHS tapes, streaming remains a marvel to me.

Let's talk about life before the internet. I had to buy papers & had few choices with less diversity (couldn't read the Guardian); was stuck with Hollywood's culture; had fewer friends; had less access to facts; had no public voice (well, I did when was a columnist).

@randallkelley @EliasToufexis Also, many now feel they have "ownership" over an IP b/c it was influential on them and/or is something they feel strongly about. So when they disagree with a creative direction, it manifests as an attack on their identity and they react viscerally and irrationally
