Can anyone explain what these lights in the sky were over Starkville a few minutes ago?
2 sets about the same size moving NW to SE. #lightsinthesky
English

@spann I watched 2 lines of lights trek across the sky… took about 30 seconds. What could this be?

@jasontpowell Saw your church! Great location! Sorry didn’t get a chance to come by.

In today's episode of the #AskMeAnything podcast, I'm continuing our series based on my new book, "Essential Christianity." The question for this week is, "How do we even know there’s a God?" buff.ly/3EnU0LA

English

@jasontpowell Amen! We have a home waiting for us that is more beautiful than we could ever imagine! Free from suffering and bondage! Hallelujah 🙏🤲
English

@gschoos Yep that’s what I quoted. 👍👍
I personally prefer the ESV (English Standard Version) of the Bible as opposed to the KJV (King James Version)
English

@jasontpowell Hey Pastor, this is the Matthew 7:3 King James Version: “And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?”
But you do you.
English

Matthew 7:5 “Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.”
You’d think this “Christian pastor” would at least get the quote right.
Jason Powell@jasontpowell
Too often we condemn others about their sin and we’re not even convicted about our own “Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?" -Jesus
English

@stretchmac85 @DocWashburn Yes I agree.
That’s why I used the word “condemn” vs judge.
Christians should use discernment and judge rightly
Jesus told us to judge with a righteous judgement
— John 7:24
English

@jasontpowell @DocWashburn Proverbs 4:7
"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."
-God
Then one may judge rightly.
Guided by the Spirit.
English

@jasontpowell Clearly it doesn’t say not to condemn sin but it’s says to reflect on your sin and change/remove the sin so you can then help your brother with his.
English

@Cyanaras Yep I believe that as well.
Even in John 2 he made a whips of cords and drove people out of the temple.
