@CrazyCryptCat @realninawysocka Nick it was rude of you in the first place with respect. I guess there is a presumption that if you are a good looking girl that you somehow need to sell your soul to OF strange world we live in

The chief whips response to me today after I raised the smears and briefings against me on mental health. Remember @Samaritans are there for you. If you are finding this difficult please don’t think that you are alone. They don’t judge, they just listen.

Growth higher than forecast, borrowing down, and now inflation falling further than expected. This Labour government has the right economic plan.

After 18 months of “standing up to Putin” the Labour govt quietly issued a licence allowing imports of Russian oil refined in third countries. Yesterday Labour MPs voted AGAINST UK oil and gas licences. We are now importing from Russia instead of drilling in the North Sea. Insane.

BREAKING: UK waives some Russian oil sanctions, allowing imports of diesel and jet fuel processed in third countries from Russian crude (most likely supply chain: imports of Indian refined products produced by processing Russian crude). gov.uk/government/pub…

Just finished a mega round of interviews on Iran, oil, sanctions, the CMA, competition, prices and profits. Lots of topics today, but behind the back and forth is a government committed to our economic security, and improving living standards. Wages have grown faster than prices every month since the election; growth fastest in G7 in Q1 2026; inflation falling; interest rates on the way down pre-Iran; govt borrowing falling as we make progress on the fastest deficit reduction in the G7; public services funded via responsibly tax rises, waiting lists down, A&E and ambulance waits down, police numbers up, immigration backlog halved. Lots done, more to do. Glad to be getting on with the job - off to Leeds now to talk about devolution now!

@IsabelOakeshott It’s time we looked at another funding model that has better treatment in time of need. We need to release funds for defence social care and education. It’s time we looked at our European neighbours and how they fund care.

@TrisOsborneMP 0.6% from a very low bar. I’d be more worried about unemployment and bringing welfare spending down dramatically

The UK experienced the highest GDP growth of any G7 economy in Q1 despite the headwinds of a war in Iran that we did not back offensively. More to do but we are not in a Sunak recession or Truss market crash.

🚨 Starmer says Brexit made Britain poorer. But the GDP data tells a more awkward story. Since the Brexit vote: UK real GDP: +12.1% Germany real GDP: +6.0% Britain is not booming. Nobody serious should pretend it is. But Europe’s supposed economic engine has grown at barely half the UK’s rate. So why is Starmer’s big answer still more Europe? This wasn’t a reset. It was a relapse: more Brexit blame, more Brussels, more excuses. No wonder voters are walking away from Labour.

Andy Burnham just gave a speech outlining his vision. One problem: he didn’t mention immigration once. The number one issue for voters in the UK. Vote accordingly, Makerfield.

Pressure is now growing on our sovereign bond market from all angles, pushing us ever closer to a 1976-style meltdown – when the UK went “cap in hand” to International Monetary Fund for a bail-out – with rising US inflation now added to that mix. American prices pressures mean US policy rates could rise, setting the tone for higher gilt yields across the world, with Britain having to offer even higher interest payments to keep our debt competitive. And higher US rates will push up the dollar compared to an already weakening pound, causing creditors to demand higher UK yields again. Global bond investors will “need to fall into line with our agenda for government” bleat Labour ministers and MPs. The combination of ignorance and arrogance is shocking – and extremely dangerous. Surprise, surprise. Josh Simons to get a plum job advising Andy Burnham in No.10. There was always a question of what he’d been promised in order to make stepping down worth his while. The arrogance is breathtaking. Different leader, same chumocracy.

The key to a British woman’s heart? A proper bath before bed. It’s not just relaxing, it’s basically a national love language. 💕 (And before the keyboard warriors rush in with “you’re swimming in your own filth,” um, no. You might do 🎯 you dirty sod, 🙃 but I shower in the morning, shower again late afternoon, then have a clean bath before sliding into bed.)👊
