@CalBearsGR8 Again, you did not read my post. I don't care about Cal, but I look at the mid majors who's budgets are already right and they're going to use this as a way to cut costs and people at the sacrifice of a good product.

@jaydee23walton That’s a rather large jump in logic to make. Cal is just trying to solve its own athletics marketing issues of which there were many. I suspect most schools have had better marketing/PR and alumni alignment and don’t need change.

This is scary for the future of NCAA DI Sports Communications.

@CalBearsGR8 Did I say anything about it effecting Cal, from what I've heard it might be good for the Bears. But, this is also going to set precedent for other schools, but in a much more harmful and destructive way. There is a reason sports comm has always been internal for all these years.

@jaydee23walton Why? 20+ jobs are just moving. Privatizing the work opens it up to more PR/marketing professionals and gets Cal alums involved. It was a bureaucratic silo before.
