I was as big of a David Stearns supporter and fan as you could find. The lineup he has assembled is genuinely one of the worst I can remember in Mets history. The team had a MLB last 0.650 OPS entering today’s matchup. He deserves 1 more year…but serious questions emerging.

The moving screens, bear hugs and out of control pushing is so off the charts. There’s no way the Cavs can win a game the refs have already decided who’s gonna win. Just a shame, it’s not good Basketball.

Interesting to hear Taylor say he was sitting on first-pitch curve ball from Bednar that he hit for game-saving HR. It was a hanger but still. Said it was part gameplan per their hitting coach, part watching how Bednar pitched previous hitters in that 9th inning. Savvy.

Somehow the Mets turned what was going to be a really ugly loss into a gut-check win that finally gets the 0-91-when-trailing-after-8 monkey off their back and keeps the youth-driven momentum alive. They're 5-1 since Ewing showed up. He and Benge played key roles again.
