All this will do is make the boy resent his mother. As a young man, nothing is worse than disappointing your father or male role models. Letting the child know you’re disappointed will encourage them to do better. I’m not saying physical discipline isn’t necessary, but there are more ways than one to cook an egg.

Most women will disagree because they don’t understand or care that statistically, this type/degree of discipline female to male has a negative psychological effect on young boys.
Boys need men, not women acting masculine to be reared correctly. The black community is full of women raising boys, many thinking this is proper discipline. Look at the decline. I rest my case.
