@adamboxer1 @vicgoddard I do like the idea that they would look at the entirety of the curriculum offer in terms of achievement - just seems inconsistent with the approach from other reports?
English

@adamboxer1 @vicgoddard Surely this would be a point to raise across curriculum and teaching rather than achievement too? Or what evidence base is there to say that in non-published qualifications performance is stronger...?
English

@adamboxer1 @MrARobbins @Chem2006 Tertiary carbocation against secondary. Would possibly make an argument that having to take into account VSEPR too is a bit sly, but it is correct. Thanks for the Friday morning brain activation 😂

I generally have fewer problems with the AQA Chemistry A Level papers than the GCSE ones, but this question looks deliberately misleading to me?
Thoughts? @MrARobbins @Chem2006 etc

@Yorkshire_Steve Do you share your model anywhere? Would be interesting to look at. Understand if you'd rather keep under wraps!

@DJGteaching Looking forward to hearing more. Can't believe it's been that long!

Another fantastic day for our year 9s courtesy of @humanutopia. Couldn't recommend them more if you want to give your young people time to reflect on what truly makes them themselves.
English

@joel120193 @adamboxer1 Think it *can* be useful to make a student stop for a moment and ask themselves why, and to stress test the curriculum delivery, but when it mutates into "you got this question wrong, thus you must not have the knowledge" as the only conclusion...yeah that ain't it

QLA is an extremely common practice in schools. It sounds like it makes sense. Go through a paper, see which questions students did badly on. Respond accordingly.
What does Becky Allen think about QLA?
She doesn't mince her words!
Tune in and share :)

NEW EPISODE We asked @profbeckyallen what are the three most important things for teachers and leaders to know about assessment. Number 1? That it's all about learning. Tune in and share! open.spotify.com/episode/3Nzb9e…

@STEMyBanda Basically bought out all the competition and had SIMS as main competition...

@DrSamSims If you're still looking for people to be involved, feel free to DM :)
English

@adamboxer1 I didn't like how they have given a volume of gases question. There's curveballs and then there's deliberately putting paper 1 content on paper 2....
English

@STEMyBanda The amount of just pure recall they need for chemical tests etc, especially the precipitate colours and then crowbarred composites etc...it doesn't flow naturally at all!
