We're not going to cross the Atlantic ocean. 1. No one has any idea how far away the nearest land is. It could be thousands of miles! 2. Surely we can just build faster caravels? The problem is that wind can only push you so fast. 3. There are no landmarks out on the ocean. Sure you can use the stars to determine your latitude, but with no way of knowing your longitude you'll just get hopelessly lost. 4. The storms are ferociously powerful. The waves are huge. Ships would sink long before they reached the other side of the ocean. 5. There's no fresh water. You'd need to carry it all with you, along with all your food. The more stores you carry, the less capable wind is of propelling you, and the slower you go. There's no way you'd be able to carry enough to avoid death by thirst or starvation long before you reached land. The Sail Equation prevents it.

The nearest star is 4.24 light years away. The fastest spacecraft ever built would require 6,600 years to get there. 2. Surely we can just build faster spacecraft. The problem is to get to anywhere close to the speed of light, we need exponentially more energy. 3. Chemical rockets will just not work. Even fusion rockets won't work. Even 10% of the speed of light is not achievable. The Tsiolkovsky Rocket Equation prevents it. 4. Interstellar dust becomes hand grenades when traveling anywhere close to the speed of light. Ships break. 5. Space radiation will kill us over the time need to travel interstellar distances. Impossible to protect without massive shields, which require massive energy to accelerate and de-accelerate.

I find it interesting about the timing of both Harwell & McFarland transferring. To me, it seemed like both were going to play a big part next season, especially Harwell w/a healthy offseason to rebound. Right when the opportunity presents itself IMO, they moved. My initial thought was McFarland would be the backup center & get good time there. Given Houston has more familiarity w/his injury recovery, it will be interesting to see what’s next (prob looking for a starter role). If Cenac is back, that makes more sense. Transfers from UH are usually based on situation & playing time, A huge transfer portal period coming up for Houston. Best of luck to McFarland & Harwell.

No matter what you say, no matter what side you take, one thing is absolutely clear to me: Iran is, by far, one of the most daring countries in the world right now. It is standing against the United States, a nation with the most advanced military power. It is facing Israel, again one of the strongest and most technologically superior forces. It is dealing with pressures across the Middle East… and doing all of this without direct backing from China or Russia. Even after massive strikes, leadership losses, and continuous attacks, Iran is still standing, still responding, still refusing to bow down. And honestly, I don’t remember the last 20 years where any country showed this level of sheer courage and defiance. Say whatever you want about outcomes, politics, or consequences… but one thing is certain in my eyes: Iran has shown a level of boldness that very few nations would even dare to attempt. And no matter how this ends, history will remember Iran as a country that had the courage to stand its ground when almost no one else would.
