This is the admission. Premier Doug Ford - who was compelled by an Ontario court to turn over his cell phone records says "personal cellphones" should be exempt from public disclosure. globalnews.ca/news/11733205/…

Premier Doug Ford said the "communist Chinese" is one of the reasons why his government has decided to retroactively gut Ontario's Freedom of Information act laws. Liberal MPP Lucille Collard says voters are "outraged." #onpoli

💥REPORT: After the Skill Development Fund scandal, Doug Ford was ordered by a court to release his cell phone records. The Ford Government is now changing the Freedom of Information laws so it doesn't have to release those records. You awake yet, Canada?

Asked about the FOI changes, Ford defends the need to keep his cell phone records private. Then he adds: “We’ve got to protect ourselves against the Communist Chinese that are infiltrating our country, Canada, the US, everything.”

“Premier Doug Ford is trying to hide records from the public and roll back the ability of everyday taxpayers from holding the government accountable,” said Noah Jarvis, Ontario director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation. “What is Ford and his cabinet trying to hide?”

Focus Ontario: The Ford government's changes to the FOI system are being called "shocking" a means to undermine the court ruling into his private cell phone. Global's Isaac Callan breaks it down. #onpoli
