@psantloki I mean, this just sounds like Apple is recreating residuals for a streaming world

Kind of wild that Apple wants to transition Hollywood actors to effectively the social media influencer business model. I guess it incentivizes stars to convert their existing fanbases and invest in their following? gizmodo.com/appletv-wants-…

@stalman Athlytic is a great workout app for AW. Gives you insights like the whoop wearable does

I’ve never used my Apple Watch so much now that I’m working out. It’s gone from nice gadget to essential tool.

@PatThePM If you are more consumer or growth oriented then I agree, it’s less important to know the nuts and bolts of your product and focus more on say your data or qualitative feedback

@jayprat95 As a PM you do KTs with your engineers? IMO not a good use of a PMs time. You’re not there to be an engineer.

@PatThePM I think there’s nuance to this. I’ve worked mostly as a platform PM and my customers are usually other engineers in my company. Understanding how my products are designed and developed helped me evangelize them to my customers

@PatThePM Tickets are an easy way for new PMs to ask questions to their tech counterparts on how something works without having to do hours of KT sessions which tech folks tend to not enjoy

Why do they need to write tickets to do that? Think about it the inverse: Would PMs want someone else to draft their tasks? So why do we believe the same should be done by PMs for engineers? Tickets could be a vehicle to that understanding, but that work is often targeted and focused, and not always the best for someone new to write.

@PMDiegoGranados I also think there’s a third category here which is mocks from subject matter experts on their expertise (E.G a product sense interview on streaming video with a YouTube PM) and they go super deep……also skews your confidence a ton

Here's what I think: MOST Mock interviews on YouTube are a great marketing scheme, but terrible education for aspiring PMs They show either - A terrible interview passed as "good" or - Someone with too much experience on the job, but hasn't interviewed in years. Thoughts?

@PMDiegoGranados 💯 if you are prepping and using some of those mocks, it really skews your frame of reference on what is good or bad

@jayprat95 The only reason I would choose the MV-7 over the VO-7U is if you need XLR. If USB covers your needs, I would choose the Deity

@stalman would you recommend the Deity VO-7U compared to other mics like the MV-7? The Shure (with boom arm) is roughly $100 more expensive and not sure it’s worth it.
