Can someone please explain to me how these ratings are calculated my horse is an 81 he’s gotten beat 50 lengths combined on 2 starts and has run 0 beyers both times. He has the same rating as ENGLISHMAN & higher than CRUDE VELOCITY 😂 😂

Back in the late 90s I was at a @KentuckyDerby event at Churchill getting signatures of Derby winners. I was in line for Pat Day but he had to go ride a race. They cut the line off right before me. But I guess when Pat looked up and saw my sad little 14yo face he told me to come over and signed my program. I started crying! As a hard core teenage racing fan it was a small act of kindness I’ve never forgotten and think of often. My kind of celebrity to announce riders up. I’ve still got that program. 💞

As CARMA enters its 18th year of service to California racing and Thoroughbred aftercare, the organization has successfully placed more than 500 Thoroughbreds through its Placement Program and awarded more than $6.8 million in grants to approved aftercare organizations.
