Mining decentralization is a big priority for us too. We’re funding @plebhash’s work on Stratum V2, @johnnyasantos’ work on P2Pool V2, and training fellows like @jayrmotta on Mujina and @VCestarii on IPC work that interfaces with mining projects. Looking forward to collaborating with Localhost in yet another area.

1/2 Three months ago we announced the resurrection of FIBRE. Today, we take our next step. Localhost Research has established a Mining Unit: a group of contributors working full time on reducing centralization pressures in Bitcoin mining.

@plebhash @luisschwab_ @karpathy Been enjoying deepseek v4 as well! On the local/FOSS workflow, it's the dream, but it doesn't seem to be feasible to have anything near as good as the commercial models yet. @AkitaOnRails has a good blog post on that in case you aren't aware.

@avoidbit @ZK_shark Not sure I got why you mentioned 51% attack, I meant a sybil attack against the pool. Would it be possible to game the payout system by splitting one's hashrate across several identities (<address>.<worker name>)?

@jayrmotta @ZK_shark Currently they are now where near enough hash to execute a 51% attack. Also, you can setup your own mode with a group of friends, community members, etc. They provided full source to their code, at least an earlier drop of it. github.com/parasitepool/p…
