The Research Society of International Law, in collaboration with @UNDP_Pakistan , under the European Union-funded Huqooq-e-Pakistan II project, conducted a capacity-building session for the @nchrofficial on Business and Human Rights. The session aimed to strengthen the NCHR's role in the implementation and monitoring of the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights. The session was informed by international best practices and explored how NCHR can lead in knowledge production, monitoring, and grievance redressal, in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. #BusinessAndHumanRights #HumanRights #Pakistan #RSIL #UNDPPakistan #UNGPs

When Hegseth planned this war he forgot the US Military’s foundational axiom: the enemy gets a vote. For @prismdawndotcom, I discuss the past 6 weeks, the Islamabad round of talks and where I think we are headed. Feedback is always welcome.

From Tehran’s perspective, this is not a moment for generosity. This is a moment for establishing that perfidy has a price. Some deterrence must be re-established. Some cost must be exacted, writes @ovesanwar Read more: dawn.com/news/1991353/p…

“Trump, Hegseth, Netanyahu and his Mossad chief Barnea, all forgot the US military’s most fundamental axiom — the enemy gets a vote. Hegseth had prosecuted a war without planning for what happens when the enemy votes. He had executed the strikes, ticked the boxes, held his slam-poetry press conferences with the appropriate MAGA-branded bravado, all bluster and body language, reminiscent of Comical Ali (Iraq’s spokesperson during the second Gulf War), telling the world that everything was going according to plan. But there was no Phase Two.” dawn.com/news/1991353/p…

“Before this war, everything about Iran’s capabilities and America’s vulnerabilities existed in the realm of the hypothetical. Could Iran actually shut the Strait? Nobody knew. Would the global economy absorb the shock? Nobody knew. Could the regime survive a full decapitation strike? Nobody knew. Could the US sustain a bombing campaign without boots on the ground? Nobody knew. Could Mossad deliver the regime change it promised? Again, nobody knew. Now, everyone knows.” RSIL’s @ovesanwar writes on the US-Iran Negotiations in Islamabad. dawn.com/news/1991353/p…

The Research Society of International Law commends the Government of Pakistan, the United States, and the Islamic Republic of Iran on reaching this ceasefire agreement. Pakistan demonstrated principled leadership when others in the region shied away from responsibility, and we hope its fruits are felt by every civilian affected by this conflict. We urge all parties to ensure this ceasefire holds and becomes permanent, denying spoilers any foothold. Civilians and civilian objects have been deliberately targeted during this conflict in contravention of the laws of armed conflict. The sanctity of International Humanitarian Law, the UN Charter, and customary international law has been deeply eroded over the past several years, and the suffering that has followed is a direct consequence of that erosion. We call upon all nations involved and the international community as a whole to recommit to the principles underpinning the international rules-based order. International law is not optional. It is the only architecture we have to prevent such catastrophic suffering from recurring. @CMShehbaz @GovtofPakistan #Ceasefire

The BBC thought it was all settled when they decided to censor Kneecap’s performance to avoid broadcasting pro-Palestinian sentiment… Then Bob Vylan came out and led a ‘Death to the IDF’ chant and said ‘Palestine must be, will be, inshallah, it will be free.’

Some level-headed Indian journalists are now acknowledging the losses suffered by the Indian Air Force , yet the mainstream Godi media continues to stay in denial, refusing to accept what clearly took place.

11.Pakistan used Chinese technology that somehow makes our losses unremarkable. 12. We have access to Chinese pl15 missiles. 13. We learned from our mistakes. 14. We flattened all their airbases (bombed some hangars and catered a runway) 15. We can afford 100x more rafales. 16. We need to fast track stealth procurement. 🥲🥲

As an Army officer we studied often the concept of war amongst the people. But Israel’s actions in Gaza have coined a new concept - war against the people. At odds with every norm of international humanitarian law. Barbaric, immoral, illegal. x.com/mhdksafa/statu…
