At the polling station was able to thank in person Pauline Hanson & Cory Bernardi … … for the opportunity to put their divisive politics last on the ballot.

Big props to all those pushing the envelope on electric delivery trucks; cleaner air, less diesel dependency. FedEx, Linfox, IKEA, ANC, TGE, APT, Kings, Woolworths, Australia Post, New Energy Transport, Volvo.

Breaking – the PM has requested modelling on a potential new gas tax. Australia Institute analysis shows that replacing the broken PRRT with a flat 25% tax on gas exports could raise more than $17 billion a year. ✍️ Sign to fix gas export laws: bit.ly/4th6r2X

The Australia Institute has proposed a Climate Disaster Levy on fossil fuel exports to ensure the companies exporting fossil fuels from Australia pay for some of the damage they are causing, rather than leaving Australians to foot the bill. Read more: theaus.in/4bp4qdp

Summer’s gone but the South Australian grid is still 99.2% green from solar, wind etc at the moment. Congrats & big thanks to current & former SA Govts who have prioritised the move away from fossil fuels that threaten our life support systems through climate-wrecking emissions.

You’re meant to tax things you want less of & subsidise things you want more of. Yet Australian governments are handing out $16.3 billion in subsidies for fossil fuels. @MattGrudnoff & @ElinorJ_L discuss why on this episode of Dollars & Sense. 🎧 theaus.in/4bm3836

After the Hamas atrocity in Israel, our Govt said "Israel has a right to defend itself" & then said zilch as Gaza was flattened & tens of thousands killed. History repeats in Iran & Lebanon. Would our Govt stay silent if a despotic Western head of state were murdered?

I have great respect for David Littleproud's service to my party, the Nationals. He led the charge to defeat the divisive Voice to Parliament. He put us in a winning position just a year ago. He helped turn the LNP's position around on net zero to a more common sense energy policy. I know what a toll these fights and this service take on a person and their family. It would have taken David a lot of guts to make the difficult decision to stand down as leader. David has lots more to offer our party and the nation. I look forward to working with him in the future. Last year I ran for Leader of the Nationals, and I plan to run again now. I have consistently been against the excessive government spending and crazy net zero policies that have left Australia with the highest inflation and interest rates in the developed world. I believe I have the best chance to help win the battle for an Australia first plan that can deliver a better life for all Australians. I will put my case to my Nationals colleagues in the coming days and will respect whatever decision they make. I love the Nationals Party and I firmly believe that our pragmatic and grounded approach is what our country now needs.
