@BarstoolUIowa I think you mean purely because they are in Iowa but I still don’t know that I agree, some are just loyal to the state. I’m a Hawkeye Alum so a Hawk for life but if ISU isn’t playing Iowa, I don’t root against them just because of the rivalry.

@walkeri141 @JordanBo_3 I don’t understand the wording because it says an invalid signal, what constitutes an invalid signal, one done incorrectly OR in the wrong circumstance? And if it’s incorrectly which would be this circumstance, that is wide open for interpretation, hence not uniformly enforced.

@JordanBo_3 Respectfully though, the issue is the officials got the call right. Point V in the rulebook specifically declares the get away signal as invalid. Iowa's defense and special teams are elite, but you can't keep asking them to do 90% of the work and expect it to always work

Everyone disagreeing with Iowa fans attacking the officials about that fair catch call, would act the exact same way if it happened to their own team.
