My heart is broken. While on his afternoon walk Friday the very best boy collapsed in a seizure. He was rushed to the vet but his heart stopped and despite the CPR it never restarted. 💔 Seamus.

My dad took me to see Damnation Alley (1977) when I was 6. Jan-Michael Vincent riding through a corridor of giant scorpions, and the Landmaster: a custom-built 12-wheeled amphibious beast driven by George Peppard. Burned into my brain for decades.

Only 16 episodes of Hong Kong Phooey aired between Sept to Dec 1974. I could’ve sworn there were hundreds. Scatman Crothers (The Shining/Cuckoo’s Nest) voiced Penry: mild-mannered janitor by day, ass-kicking superhero by… also day. He sang the theme, too. You know the words.

@TheStingisBack Cracker was absolutely incredible. I watched it on its first run here. I can’t even remember how I discovered it

Robbie Coltrane was born OTD in 1950 - Mini Thread Fitz from Cracker remains one of TV’s all-time great characters. From the birth of alternative comedy to standout British films (including James Bond), he later became bona fide acting royalty. I still miss Robbie.

@babybeginner They really took their time putting out this public statement! I've been worrying all day long since I first heard about the story. "What about consumer safety?" I thought and "Is supply affected?". Thankfully they throughouly put my mind to rest.

As contagious as it is to watch Belushi, you just can't take your eyes off of Aykroyd. The sheer amount of talent on that small stage is staggering. The Blues Brothers performing 'Soul Man' live on SNL, in 1978. 48 years apart yet it is still incredibly impressive.

Happy 75th Birthday, Kurt Russell Kurt and John Carpenter gave us three iconic characters: Snake Plissken, R.J. MacReady, and Jack Burton. Jack’s my favourite, blundering through Big Trouble in Little China with zero clue is pure genius. Just don’t question his reflexes.

Cesar Romero, the dashing actor best known as the Joker from the 1960s Batman series, walked away from Hollywood's spotlight to serve our country during World War II. At 35, with a thriving career that included dancing with Rita Hayworth and starring alongside Clark Gable, Romero stunned everyone by enlisting in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1942. He refused any easy path: "I don't want any special treatment," he insisted, demanding a frontline spot aboard the assault transport USS Cavalier. Starting as an apprentice seaman and rising to chief boatswain’s mate, he operated winches with unmatched skill, launching landing craft into deadly invasion waves under relentless enemy fire. His commander called him the best winch operator he'd ever known, and in the heat of battle, Romero even manned the powderman role on the forward five-inch gun during the savage fights for Saipan and Tinian—engagements that left thousands dead in a nightmare of explosions and chaos. His reason for risking it all? A simple, soul-stirring declaration: "For my country." Romero endured the Pacific's brutal theater, swabbing decks at dawn, lifting spirits with shipboard shows for his weary buddies, and returning home in 1945 with invisible wounds that spoke of profound sacrifice. He was the essence of the Greatest Generation—ordinary men who became legends through unbreakable courage and love for their nation. God bless Cesar Romero and all those heroes whose quiet valor saved our world. Their stories break our hearts and fill us with pride—never let their memory fade.
