1 club missed more EC campaigns they qualified for than any other team. That same team has, since then, won as many UCLs as any other English club, and reached as many finals, even the 2 clubs that have dominated the league for 30 years.

Context: Hard to dominate Europe when English clubs were banned for 5 years after Liverpool fans went on a murderous rampage in Heysel! Then English clubs had to play catch up in a different UCL landscape; you come back and you’re limited by UEFA’s 3-foreigner rule. Funny how once that changed after Bosman ruling, United won the lot 😉

@omunahab @michaelttfw And the point made is about PL legacy. Imagine CR's career consisted on his 5 years in his first spell at United, and his 2 years when he came back. Is that a career that would have everyone talking about him as a legend? No matter how good he was in 2008.

@jbkeyo @michaelttfw I respect Salah, even last season Salah is one of the best from a player in the EPL but it never attracted the attention of the whole football world. Ronaldo got Pele, Maradona, and every other legends saying he was the best. He gave the results with so much entertainment.

@omunahab @michaelttfw And? One season. His best season's were at RM. He left at 24 as/before he was peaking. Salah has been peaking in the PL for 8 seasons. He has 3 POTY awards. Non has achieved that. 🤷‍♂️

I'm seeing conflicting reports everywhere about Slot. Is he staying or going? How can journalists contradict each other so much? Honestly, I can't face another season with him. I've never hated the fella, but if he stays, I won't be able ti bare another season of slot ball.

@peter_bolster If you are a Liverpool fan with knowledge of history you will know that it is not necessary to find direct replacements for players. Rush was replaced. Dalglish was replaced. Keegan replaced. Hughes and Smith replaced. None with direct like for like players.

Apparently "goals" are just "stats" for nerds. Real footballers kick fans in the head and walk out on WC training camps cos the pitch is a bit uneven and there aren't enough balls. That's what real football is all about, not "goals". Wtf counts them as important???

All stats with you nerds. Facts are he isn't anywhere near the level or impact that Cantona, Giggs, Rooney, Ronaldo, Keane, etc. had. Fella couldn't defend a title, threw his toys out of the pram because he didn't start a few games and chucked his team under the bus.

There must have been some within Liverpool's hierarchy and/or ownership desperate to see him leave this summer, because why else would they sacrifice £30m-£50m in a transfer fee? 'Respect for the player' does not seem a plausible explanation. Salah was right.

There’s a huge difference between “best” and “greatest”. Suarez is easily the best player we’ve had and it’s not even close. The greatest players though are Stevie, Mo and Kenny. However, the greatest Red (player, manager and man) is King Kenny. He’s incomparable.

Nott Forest PL player Taiwo Awoniyi showed his shirt saying God (Jesus) is the greatest. He’s now facing disciplinary from the FA. Yet they stopped games for fast breaks, and allowed writing on screen that said ‘Holy Month of Ramadan.’ We need consistency at the very least.

So you mean to tell me, an airplane can go right through the World Trade Center that had steel structure beams of 4 inch plate every 40” using 12 different grades of steel with a yield strength of 100,000 psi but if the same plane were to run into a firetruck on a runway the plane is completely destroyed.
