And keep in mind: I want fewer abortions. But it's clear that there's a lot of emotional manipulation from the GOP and they use it to wrangle votes. Wait... Isn't that the premise of Toxic Empathy? Maybe ABS had a point after all. 🤔

A reminder that voting Trump and overturning Roe didn't actually lower abortions as advertised. It was all political theatre to emotionally manipulate well-meaning people into voting GOP. That's why abortion is no longer a key factor in my votes anymore.

@DomS146239 @kapitankidlat24 Former Republican and have Republican family members here, and I absolutely grew up in a family that thought Barbra Streisand wasn't good, but Kevin Sorbo is a great actor, all due to political alignment. It's DEFINATELY a factor on the right, but folks don't want to admit it.

@realmattcarr It's absolutely selective. The same folks who were "I'm voting for a president, not a pastor" to dismiss his lack of morality OR claimed that Trump was the "Christian" choice, are suddenly appalled when a Democrat is vocal about his faith, let alone does the same thing as Trump.

Be intentional about making friends with people at every life stage and relationship, especially at your church! Your life will be blessed and richer for it. It can be hard since life automatically sorts us by stage, but you see the beauty of the body of Christ when you have friends with lives that differ from yours.

Republicans bank on the idea that Christians can't be Democrat. That's why I think they are trying to jump on Talarico for being Christian... That's the Republicans' schtick. Kind reminder: Christianity isn't limited to conservatism. Liberals are allowed to follow Jesus too.
