A lot of hours and hard work put in but I finally got there! Still so much to learn but I will take this in and enjoy this achievement. Feels like it’s been a long time coming and is definitely the highlight of my coaching journey so far. Absolutely buzzing😁⚽️ UEFA C✅

⚽️ Coaching Insight: The power of 2v2 2v2 is one of the most effective tools for developing real game behaviours. In this format, players can get up to 5x more touches and decision-making moments than in full-sided games — meaning greater involvement and deeper learning. It naturally develops: ➡️ Constant attacking & defending habits ➡️ Quick transition reactions ➡️ Communication & problem-solving ➡️ Accountability and awareness When used consistently, the transfer to matchday becomes clear: ➡️ Faster reactions ➡️ Better support and cover ➡️ More confidence in duels ➡️ Smarter decisions under pressure As coaches, it challenges us to reflect… If players aren’t showing improved habits on matchday, is it truly a game-day issue — or a reflection of the environments and practices we design in training? Coaches — what’s your perspective? Share it in the comments below 👇

As coaches we have such a big role in youth football. I personally prioritise enjoyment first. U11 player ran over at the start of training and told me he scored Sunday but was even more excited to say he done the Cole palmer celebration!

Pep Guardiola makes it clear: mistakes are part of improvement. You can dribble ten times and lose the ball ten times — and still improve from it. But if you don’t try? There’s nothing to improve. Not trying is the real mistake. Fear stops growth. Action creates learning. Progress comes from courage, not perfection. That’s how teams get better — step by step, stage by stage.

• If the striker is slow to press → we progress. • If the winger stays narrow → passing lane to our winger. • If the winger jumps wide → spare man centrally. forcing a decision and exploiting it.

🔁 Why invert the fullback? When the ball travels to the opposite CB, the fullback steps inside to drag the opposition winger with him. We then speed up play and switch back quickly. Now the opponent has a problem: 1/2 >

🔵 Manchester City Training Session Plan — Breakout Possession vs Man-to-Man Pressing ⚡ 🔹 Six-pass minimum before breaking out to goal 🎯 🔹 Replicates aggressive man-to-man pressing 🔥 🔹 No artificial overloads 🔹 Emphasizes third-man combinations and support angles 🔹 High technical execution in tight spaces 🧠⚽ The objective is simple: rehearse breaking man oriented pressure, a pressing trend that is becoming increasingly common across the Premier League. Coaches who want more, we strongly recommend getting access to our brand new Coaching Hub ➡️keepitonthedeck.com/members-area

@jbradcoaching I remember it as part of a practical put on by the coach developers on the Uefa C. However, the theme was intercepting! Prime example of how a practice can be flipped for an opposite outcome.

One of my favourite sessions for breaking lines!⚽️
Steven Ventura@StevenVent101

My #SundayShare is a breaking lines practice. Teams locked in zones look for opening for penetrative pass to a teammate for a point (waist high limit on passes). If intercepted, the other team tries the same. Coaching points: · Positioning: to receive both on half turn (in own area) and square to receive penetrative pass. · Scanning: where are the gaps? · Receiving: controlling with good first touch. · Movement: to receive and offset opponents. · Technique: firm push pass with follow through. · Deception: feint pass. Progressions: (1) players on two touches; (2) first time penetrative pass = 2; (3) after two passes, one opponent can enter the quarter for a 1 v 3. If they win the ball they pass back to their teammates and re-join their group. Formed first practice in whole – part - whole session with the U11 as part of Block 3 of the training syllabus. The part was 2 v 2 in a square connecting with servers and final game was standard match with constraint GK must play out from the back. @SundayShare10 @TheS_Resource @AcademySCoach #coaching
