If you could choose any movie to get one more sequel, what would it be? I’d choose Back to the Future.

@KyleBumpus @texasrunnerDFW The exciting counter-attacks happen every 10-15 minutes until end of match. If you’ve got to defend the whole field, it’s more spread out with more goals. Defenses would figure it out. There’s a reason nba teams don’t play defense with 4 ppl and 1 guy cherry picking

@jbyrd_87 @texasrunnerDFW Nah then you'd just have campers hanging out by the goal and the defense would have to play deep. The compression creates exciting counter-attack opportunities.

Grizzlies friends, you will LOVE Richie Saunders. Great player who improved immensely each season. Hard worker. Smooth shooter. Tireless hustle. And having met him, I can tell you he is an incredible person. A culture guy that can help any team he's on.

@khaslett community banks are more concerned w credit unions than big banks. CU’s can do everything banks can do, don’t pay taxes, have less regulation, and are not accountable to shareholders It’s borderline malpractice that CU’s haven’t put banks out of business given the advantages

@khaslett Big banks and small banks don’t cross paths nearly as often as this article suggests other than maybe retail or SMB checking accts. The biggest benefits from this admin to banks of all sizes have been more reasonable regulators in practice (exams or needed approvals)

What is the theory for *why* the iPhone's release caused fertility to collapse? I'm temperamentally pre-disposed to agreeing with these kinds of notions, but I don't know what the people who study this stuff seriously see as the real causal link.

@fastbreakbreak Thanks for addressing the question on the pod. Can you help me understand the cap situation? My assumption was Gibson would be cut if not needed for trade, BC’s $12.5 salary and $500k unlikely bonus going away, then Rupert’s hold being gone

You don't understand. Nobody understands. I'm at a wedding last weekend and the groom's father asks me what I do and I say I invest in community banks and his eyes glaze over before I finish the sentence and I keep talking anyway. I tell him about a thrift in central Pennsylvania trading at 0.7x tangible book with a 12% Tier 1 ratio. He's looking for an exit. There is no exit. I have driven 400 miles to attend a shareholder meeting in a town with one stoplight to ask the CEO why their efficiency ratio went up 80 basis points. The answer was "we replaced the HVAC." I wrote it in a notebook. I have a notebook. I subscribe to three regional newspapers because that's where the small-bank M&A leaks first. My Google Alerts include "deposit franchise," "succession plan," and the name of every chairman over 72 in the FDIC database. I have not met a banker under 60. They all wear the same brown shoes. They all drive the same car. They all have a son named Greg who doesn't want to take over. Greg is why I'm rich. Last year I made 31% on a Texas community bank that got bought by a slightly larger Texas community bank and the local paper wrote three paragraphs about it and I framed the article. It is in my office. Next to a photo of my wife. She is closer to the door.

So … a rule designed to *keep teams from having 3 straight top 5 picks*, could bar the Grizzlies from getting a 2nd one if the pick comes from Utah *but* the Jazz could trade for an unprotected 2027 pick from another team and be allowed to … have a third straight top 5 pick.

@fastbreakbreak Looks like the Grizz will have $35MM in cap space before draft picks. If they have $20MM+ in cap room, would you take on bad salary to get assets or try to sign FA (Coby white, Ayo, Rui, etc) to get more competitive?

@istockgrizz @ChrisHerrington @Jevensky @Schultzism Murray is overrated, at least relative to contract ($46M next year with 3-4 more big years vs Ja $39MM w 1 more Year after next) When Ja plays, he is better than Murray (who also isn’t a beacon of health) imo. I could see the risk/reward bet working out for both sides
