And @fiannafailparty and @FineGael wonder why they are so unpopular, this kind of stuff has been going on for years and they do absolutely nothing to tackle it, its why we have such a problem with unsustainable levels of immigration as people see us as a soft touch

@MichaelPTKelly And they were happy enough to import their own culture wars for the last couple of decades.

When people say they don’t want to ‘import’ American-style culture wars, what they really mean is they’re very content with people they don’t like being silenced.

Truly remarkable that a national broadcaster, in a country almost totally dependent on FDI from the United States, would allow a commentator come out with this stuff the day after an attempted assassination. Along with morals and ethics, the left has abandoned common sense.

Absolutely astonishing from Fergus Finlay on RTE just now re the shooting at the White House Correspondent event: "One of the good things to come out of it is that it spared the world Trumps 10 minute scripted speech and probably an hour and a half of his rambling."

Irish welfare is so generous, its border so porous, and its ability to deter fraud so pathetic that African criminals based in London take weekly international flights to Ireland to collect welfare money from the Irish taxpayer. We deserve *everything* we're getting.

@AhernHerbe8277 @Mullins77David If they are Dublin or its hinterland, or Cork, the nature of their accent tends to be forgiven. Anything beyond that doesn’t get as benign a treatment. The relevant trio from my lifetime were mocked repeatedly for it.

This is a really interesting article. It details the policy haplessness with which SF finds itself afflicted & shatters any remaining perception that somehow its full of steely political operators. It also highlights the fanciful absurdity of the so-called alliance of the left.

Exclusive: political knives are out for Mary Lou McDonald within Sinn Fein as even her internal supporters now say her leadership is in peril. Huge rumblings in the party as possible future leaders being pushed to act. Contentious motions due at Ard Fheis thetimes.com/world/ireland-…

@Mullins77David @AhernHerbe8277 Well we heard that big impassioned indignant speech after the 2010 budget and so many thought it was great altogether. We’ve got 15 years of trying that same trick since and it doesn’t land quite the same.

@AhernHerbe8277 Listen, man, it was a slightly tongue in cheek comment, not a profound political analysis. And I was talking about *his* particular accent and style of communicating. Having watched him up close in LH for 15 yrs I can tell you it irritates the shit out of a lot of people.

@JerseySpurss44 Oldham was 1994 surely? Always find it odd that so much was made of Everton’s last day escapes in both those seasons whilst ignoring just how close Spurs were to the precipice in both too.

Tottenham away to Wolves tomorrow is the biggest game for the wrong reasons since Oldham 93 and Barnsley 98.

𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘁𝗮𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 Irish Minister for Mental Health @MaryButlerTD is cosying up to @KarSugrue a fellow "Mammy for Trans". Both of these women have "transed" their daughters and sent them down the pathway of hormones and irreversible surgery, towards a lifelong medical nightmare. Their mission now? To recruit as many other "trans" kids as possible to salve their own consciences. These dangerous activists must be extirpated, for the sake of all Irish children.

@PeterPaulGuy @Goyionist @karenievers Arguably worse because their rank conveys a status upon them that is barely merited, but enables them to go into the media peddling the left wing talking points and conducting “research” to fit to the desired conclusion for same.

@Goyionist @karenievers I agree. Irish universities are a major problem with woke and hard-left Ireland. As bad as NGOs and media.

@eric_nelligan What breaks my heart is that Irish people still read it. I uninstalled the app back in 2015 when it was obviously just an activist platform in cahoots with public sector unions and NGO's. But hey it was free!

The Journal has been passing off its ‘Factcheck’ division as bias free and balanced for a long time. Glad to see it’s now being challenged legally. Coimisiún na Meán needs to reduce its funding at a minimum until reforms are implemented.

This has been coming for a long time. Yesterday, Dr Ian Schneider and Dr Paul Moran, both respected practitioners at our National Gender Service initiated separate libel proceedings in the High Court against Journal Media Limited, the publisher of The Journal and its related brands, including FactCheck.
