A few lesser-known products I love and use a ton:
1. cleanshot.com for screenshots
2. supercut.ai replaced Loom for me, so clean
3. textexpander.com for frequent snippets
4. matthewpalmer.net/rocket/ for emojis
5. brain.fm for focus

@runsonai Could be a fun thread to re-post to our community site if you want to share more directly with TextExpander users: community.textexpander.com

@jdmullin Great idea! Going to have to borrow this too, so helpful.

I built a TextExpander snippet that pastes my calendar availability anywhere (Gmail, Slack, iMessage) in one keystroke.
Type ;avail → instantly get:
Here's my availability next week (all times CT):
- Monday 3/10: 11:30am–1pm, 3–4:30pm
- Tuesday 3/11: Fully booked
...
Here's how I built it...

I've become a @cursor_ai junkie, revived my energy for building quick apps. A new fav hack:
Prompt: Can you write a complete .cursor file, so if I don't work on this project for a year, and open it up in Cursor, you will have all the context to pick right up where we left off?
English

@lukemadden @TextExpander Yep, we agree 100%. We have a thorough postmortem process for situations like this that helps us learn and improve. We don't want another day like yesterday for our customers either.
English

@TextExpander I appreciate the update, but this issue has been incredibly frustrating. Having my computer rendered nearly unusable due to a conflict with a core productivity tool is devastating. Thank you for the fix! I would be massively grateful if we could avoid a recurrence.
English

We deployed a fix on the afternoon of March 4th to address this issue: We identified a conflict between TextExpander and certain Mac applications, particularly Adobe and Microsoft products. Running TextExpander while launching these apps could prevent them from opening successfully or cause the apps to freeze if they were already open.
To complete the fix, you will need to quit and re-open the TextExpander client. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely to ensure stability.If you are still experiencing issues, please contact our support team at support@textexpander.com, and we will be happy to assist you.
You can also track and subscribe to real-time updates at status.TextExpander.com.

@easytyga @TextExpander Cool, I just shared it with you. Probably best to duplicate and move to your own snippet group so you can modify as you see fit.

@jdmullin @TextExpander Thank you J.D.
I wasn’t able to DM you but I sent my email address to the TextExpander account

Hi Josh and team @TextExpander
I know I’m a pain. But, is there a way to insert a date picker or calendar dropbox into a TE? Thank you again in advance!
English

@easytyga @TextExpander Yep, you can embed Snippets inside Snippets. One pain of this approach is it shows 31 days no matter the month, and you have to add years manually, but otherwise, it's workable. DM me the email you use for TextExpander and I'll share the Snippet with you.
English

@jdmullin @TextExpander Hi J.D.
Sure. I would love to use that. Is that something that can be placed within other TEs as well? Sorry for all of the questions
English

@easytyga @TextExpander Hi Cody, it's a common feature request, and I've had our team add your request for it as well. The workaround, while not as elegant, is to create a popup with an option for each date component (month, day, year). I can share mine with you and save you the setup pain.
English

@brendameller @TextExpander That's an impressive 178 week streak as well, Brenda 💪

@evernote Please, please, please get this thing out of my way! One or two days of showing it when brand new is great, but now, please stop!

@TextExpander Your customer support is flawless 🙏

@dharmesh Hi Dharmesh, I think clicking the comment icon (one with blue dot in this image) and then the bell will do this. We have our employees to do this to see comments in our leadership meeting notes every week.

English

@todoist I'm acutely aware how changing the UI for existing users induces "you moved my cheese" comments, but I still find myself here. Can't comprehend how moving "add task" and "search" the 2 things I do the most, in order to have empty space in the UI, is a win.
