macOS has no good default for opening .md files. Here's the 3-layer setup I landed on: 1. Spacebar preview → QLMarkdown (brew install --cask qlmarkdown) 2. Default app → QuickMD (free, Mac App Store, native SwiftUI, 2MB) 3. Terminal → glow (brew install glow) If you use Obsidian for vaults but still need to quickly open standalone .md files from Finder/ Raycast/ terminal, this covers every context

Just learned about the beautiful personal library of a German mining engineer called Bruno Schröder. His entire house was covered in custom shelves he built himself, housing his life’s work – a 70,000 book collection. Bruno died in 2022 at 88, while in the midst of digitally cataloguing his massive collection. Sadly, he had no relatives and the house, including the books, was handed to an estate manager and put up for sale. That’s when his story and these photos surfaced.

@tesla_na @SawyerMerritt @cybertruck What if there is a fire in the vehicle cab and you need to get out immediately but the sensor detects a cyclist coming who would get doored if you opened the door, does the Tesla choose the cyclist over you burning alive?

@kevinnbass I’m looking forward to seeing what you are building. From the glimpse we’ve seen of your tooling with the Epstein files, it looks powerful, and if now you are dropping citizen-CIA, it’s probably crazy.

I am trying to understand what I have just built over the past few weeks and you guys know the phrase “citizen journalist”? Well I swear to God I didn’t set out to do this on purpose but what do you guys think about the idea of a “citizen CIA”?

@elonmusk @melissa @Cernovich Why wasn’t just the post that tripped the paid advertisement flag removed, why the whole account? What happens when people use @XMoney and say something X doesn’t like? They can’t pay for anything until maybe someone gets to looking at the appeal days/weeks later? Seems not ideal

elon, i want to use x chat but how can we pick it over signal when an accidental ban cuts off all access? @cernovich just got banned, he specifically says he couldn't use dms to get help same thing happened to me, i only got back in because i know someone who knows someone i got lucky i don't have 1M followers, or a subparstack to use as an air raid siren i am only on x and i'll never decamp from x, my location quite literally says "elon's x" but ever since then, i started adding x friends on signal, in case it happens again and i need people to post appeals on my behalf aws may go down, but it comes back up on its own

How is there not a liaison for banned accounts? I had to bitch publicly to get any movement on my "appeal." This is stupid. Should have been handled with one text message. I was suspended totally, couldn't even DM. Not a good system at all.

This is completely ridiculous, @elonmusk and @nikitabier. Cernovich is one of the most honest and forthright people on this entire site. Long before the new paid partnership rules were put in place, he was disclosing everything voluntarily, telling people whether he was an investor, compensated, etc. He regularly recommended nutritional stuff he had no stake in because he thought it was a good product. Suspending him over this is beyond ridiculous, especially given the amount of garbage slop-for-pay trash that goes undisclosed on this site.
