@Sharpuwu I mean killing the leviathan in the first game was super impractical anyways, but they could at least let us use a torpedo to stun them (like in the first game), but made the ammo really expensive. The fish are WAY more aggressive in this game, and the dodge isn't even that good

Bit of a hot take:
I actually like Subnautica 2 more than the first.
Being able to kill leviathans with a knife made you feel powerful against an enemy that was horrifying and assumed to be unkillable
And thus, the fear factor could be reduced if you were skilled enough
Now? There is no fighting back.
There is no reduction of fear.
There is just you, the ocean, and it's inhabitants. And you look like a VERY appeasing lunch to them
I think that makes the game more terrifying, and in turn, much better.
Props to the devs, ya did good, me and my gf love your game and can't wait for the full release 💜

Subnautica 2 devs say "go play Sons of the Forest" if you don't like its lack of violence. The game focuses on underwater exploration, and you cannot kill most creatures. On the official Discord, one player asked why killing is impossible in SN2 as it makes no sense. Level designer Artyom O’Rielly replied, “This is not a killing game, so go play Sons of the Forest if you want to kill.” Another developer said, “The team discusses this a lot inside the studio and may let players catch small fish for food, but large creatures will stay safe so the game feels right.” This idea comes from the first Subnautica, as the team wants players to discover things, feel wonder, and live with ocean life instead of fighting it. A fan-made mod already lets players kill creatures, and the studio is reading all feedback. It plans to add better ways to scare off creatures but will not add weapons. Early access is expected to last up to 3 years.

@TurkPulse It was a cool, but failed stunt. Only one of the pilots made it to the opposite aircraft, I'm pretty sure the other one crashed. The FAA didn't approve of the flight when redbull asked - hence why they lost their licenses. Still cool asf though

@wesleytypes @SonySantaMonica @megacatstudios Slapping a "teen" rating just takes out what God of War is known for, which is the extreme action and violence, and somewhat heavy themes. I respect them wanting to try something new for the IP, but I don't think it's necessarily the path forward. Kratos is NOT a pg-13 character

If you're wondering why Sons of Sparta seems tame and a bit on the nose for a God of War title, it's because the game is a story Kratos is telling to his daughter Colliape.
Honestly, a genius framing device and justification for the first Teen rated God of War.
