@Ralph_MasonJr @CanyonDriver 4/x In turn, it's not hard to focus on protecting the defensive boards. The talent still needs to give a shit about following the plot drawn up & coached by the Staff. That's always the tension. Just as it is on defending schemes.

If Dan Hurley was a Laker coach, the Lakers would get all of the long rebounds. UConn does a great job as an entire team crashing the defensive glass, and tracing the FT line and even the baselines for ORebs on long shots.

@Ralph_MasonJr @CanyonDriver 3/x On the other hand, I-Hart is very good at ORB. Would be 4th in ORB% if he had the games to qualify. Of course others like Adams don't have the games. OKC has a strategy, but makes an exception for I-Hart crashing / challenging . Which I think is a sign of good coaching.

@Ralph_MasonJr @CanyonDriver 2/x OKC chooses *not* to prioritize ORB. Instead they transition into defense. Part making sure to get numbers back & cut off the transition offense. But part of it also is to create turnovers in the transition, including in the back court.

@Ralph_MasonJr @CanyonDriver I think when we look at the teams high on the ORB% rankings, it clearly can be. We also need to factor in the coaching strategy also well. Some teams don't prioritize it & coach up other things. 1/x

It is unlikely that happens. They’re reporting just Williams, who they would likely play if it wasn’t a back to back. They need the wins over both the Lakers and Clippers so that they have homecourt throughout

@LawMurrayTheNU I follow OKC even more than the Lakers. Hartenstein hasn't played a back-to-back since November. Chet has sat 5 back-to-backs. They don't need everyone to beat LAL, especially if Bron sits. I expect to see more Questionable & Probables and/or Outs in the early reports.

@BillSimmons To be clear: that's not to say he isn't bleeding Hornets blood. But he will pop for great plays by opponents in a tight game like very few do. It really does get across that a game is terrific when even the home announcer is popping for the other team. Good work, Collins!

@BillSimmons What I like the most about Collins is that he'll be as positively hyper about a big play by the opponent down the stretch as the Hornets. And not in a homer way. I've heard him put over a great made shot by an opponent as being awesome, as he's gotten so wrapped up in the game.
