@abhay @jmanhnt Grafana.helium.com showing very low pending DC burn ramp with long plateaus of zero ramp. Very different pattern than existed until ~6 hours ago. Seems some difficulty landing burn transactions as well?

@jmanhnt What are you seeing? My initial look shows better than yesterday (and last week) sessions, DAUs, active hotspots and data across the network. But maybe there's an issue in a particular set of Hotspots or region?

@jaym2518 @KarlHungus211 @jdgemm @helium Yes Nova is still the “middle exchange” layer but soon, telco must buy from exchanges like everyone else. No reason not to believe Nova won’t burn those HNT.

So for example, if Nova burns $40k in HNT but only collects $10-15k in fiat revenue, all that’s really required of them to be consistent with Amir’s statement is buying $10-15k of HNT at some point. That’s a very different picture. I don’t think anything has ever been said that would imply they’re also buying the overburn amount.

@mrtomnguyen @KarlHungus211 @jaym2518 @jdgemm @helium The network, as a vestige from the CBRS days, requires Nova to burn 50 cents per GB to pass data. They have been quite explicit that they are not receiving that amount in fiat revenue from telcos.

From an investor perspective “telcos used $40k to buy and burn HNT” is very different than “Nova burned $40k of HNT from their illiquid holdings, collected some fraction of that from telcos which they may have used to buy HNT”, I think that should be obvious? And is of course working on a proposal to end the overburning of HNT above what they’re receiving from telcos.

In this case the on-chain number is only somewhat connected to outside cash flows but it’s easy to misinterpret it.

@KarlHungus211 @jaym2518 @jdgemm @helium The chart represents DC (HNT) burned. Which is done at the 50 cent rate. The only conclusion we can make from this chart is the amount of HNT burned. We can say exactly zero about HNT being bought or fiat coming from telcos.
