Jake Michalak (rhp, @OhioStateBASE). 6’3”/220. Encouraging outing. Went 6️⃣⬆️6️⃣⬇️ in the final two innings today, needing just 19 pitches. Power stuff. Averaged 95 mph, touched 96. Slider 85-87. 23.1% K-Rate.

The Savannah Bananas are not baseball, and they are not designed to appeal to the same audience as baseball is, and that's fine. But we don't need thinkpieces of "what can baseball learn from the Savannah Bananas" or "why can't baseball fill a 100k football stadium" because...
SEC Baseball@SECbaseball

4 unequivocally true takes about the Savannah Bananas. 1. It’s ok to like Banana Ball 2. It’s ok to not like Banana Ball 3. It’s weird to be mad that people like Banana Ball 4. It’s ok to be mad at ESPN for not covering college baseball while they do cover Banana Ball

More Guardians and Draft talk as well as some thoughts on the White Sox and why I think recent Roch chatter is just silly posturing

@jeffMLBdraft They platoon too much Jeff . Yes guys do need off days but not this early I. Season and not when he's in a groove Let's be honest. They philosophically just like platooning and playing everyone while the offense struggles no matter how hot a hitter is Vogt said last year

Guys need off days in baseball I see complaining about the lineup but not one plays 162 and when it comes to Martinez you are lining those up when you can against a righty

What's interesting with Jose this year is he is hitting the ball harder and barrelling more but also hitting the ball to center and not pulling as much which is not a good thing. Also leading to slightly more chasing. Feels like a different approach hoping to get to more power

Offensive problems aside…. Kyle Manzardo’s defense has improved substantially this season.

This plus Tibbs for a month of May and 2 trades netted 3 if their best prospects while still winning a world series. That's how you keep a pipeline alive with pick loss and penalties
Noah Camras@noahcamras

The Gavin Lux trade last year is a perfect example of what makes the Dodgers so great. LA got Mike Sirota and a draft pick (which became Charles Davalan). Their stats at High-A: Sirota: .325/.464/.649, 5 HR, 13 RBI Davalan: .302/.394/.581, 6 HR, 17 RBI

By the end of the year will likely have the highest bWAR of any Guardians rule 5 pick passing Trevor Stephan and Tom Waddell who were also relievers

Sabrowski as a development story is crazy. Gets drafted in 18 has TJ. Then no minor league season in 20, debuts in 21 and throws 29 innings. Cleveland sees something takes him in the minor league phases of the 2021 Rule 5 draft and he needs a 2nd TJ. Makes it to the majors in 25
Justin L. (jlbaseball on bluesky)@JL_Baseball

Erik Sabrowski also continues to be an incredible scouting and development find. Not sure how many teams have turned minor league rule 5 picks into high leverage relievers
