have you ever heard any compelling shorthands for these types of memory-gain tamers?

@translationmon that's great for the collection of all 3, but i'm hoping for something for each one separately 😢

more interesting data: "memory setters" vs "opp digi memory gainers"(?) over the years (aka, lmao look at how tamer-focused the digimon story game sets have been)

really i just wish we had a good shorthand for #2 the same way we do for "memory setters". #4 is still pretty rare (just a handful of TS cards), and #3 is trait-specific, but #2 is just as generic as "memory setters" and about 50% as common (47 vs 83)

@Karn_EX I’m convinced 99% of the reason this app hasn’t completely fallen apart yet is because people still have that gut instinct lol

@dy__dk @Lysts_Sin this is fantastic! does calling it a podcast mean it’ll be available in podcast apps?

btw these complex regex searches are basically just doing what’s described here in how to identify passive permission effects (filtering out things with a “when” trigger event, plus some additional filters to include “in hand”, [~ turn], and not dna)

also, for reference, here is the full list of warp digivolution permission-granting effects that DO work with Arts Digivolution

Digimon DUAL card PSA: These 6 warp digivolution permission-granting effects WILL NOT work with Arts Digivolution since they only work for digivolving into a card *directly* in the hand

showing off corners of @cardSlashDB that even I often forget about: BT25 has more average effect text than BT24, but less than EX9 and EX10 (and AD1 is currently the most verbose set)

75% of digimon rulings questions can be answered by just looking at the precise words used (play vs use, attack vs battle, etc) 25% require a deep understanding of a couple different systems and how they interact 2% require ignoring the laws of math and logic

tbf i think the professor who was teaching an intro-level cs class to high school students and introduced the idea of regexes only as finite state machines (instead of, you know, as an extremely useful text matching tool) was very misguided

@translationmon (don’t look too closely at that graph lol, apparently a bunch of the upcoming dual-color trainings in block 06 were miscategorized as block 05 on the wiki)

@translationmon I’ve seen this opinion a lot and I think it’s fair to be frustrated in the powercreep, but I think people forget that the og trainings are actually pretty ancient now — staples from year 3 of a game in year 7. I think it’s fair for them to get a *bit* of powercreep 4 years later

Okay so, the new trainings are good, but possibly TOO good. The dual mem boosts had the downside of drawing 3 Digi cards vs but trainings search 2 and have sec effect (mono colour can only have 1). By the end of year, if you run multiple, there's no downside in mono colour decks
