The Crunchyroll Store sent an email out to their affiliate partners announcing they are shutting down the affiliate program today • An official "reason" hasn't been officially stated, my assumption would be further cost cutting on Crunchyroll's end

Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026 got a record 73 million votes. Because Japan didn’t even make the top 5. Top countries: Brazil, India, Mexico, Germany, and the United States. The awards are for Japanese anime and the ceremony is held in Japan, but Crunchyroll service is still geo-blocked in Japan. Most Japanese fans can’t access the platform or participate in the awards. It’s a clear structural contradiction: international award show for Japanese anime that barely involves Japanese viewers. This perfectly shows how far Crunchyroll has moved away from the original Japanese audience and creators while focusing entirely on the global market.
